Hooray, Emsz! I hope there are more kisses where that one came from!!
And thanks for the kind words! I completely agree with all of your feedback. I gotta say, there was definitely chemistry there which was amazing (I wasn’t imagining things!)… until something felt off. (As I said.) So, I have no idea what it was, but it wasn’t me. And that’s that. I’m hopeful I’ll be updating here sooner rather than later with something new! And I’m glad to get everyone’s objective feedback. 😀shakeourtreeSeptember 28, 2015 at 9:12 am #384105I had my first date with a new guy last Friday. It went well. He’s cute, if a little awkward. The conversation was good, but I’m a bit of a chatty Cathy, so I don’t generally have problems making conversation. I wasn’t completely sure if he was into it, but in hindsight, I think he was just nervous because he really went for it with the goodnight kiss. We made out in the rain for a while. At one point he cradled my head in his hands while we were kissing, which was hot. Then he grabbed my waist/upper butt and pulled me closer to him, crotch to crotch. It was very sexual. We texted a little bit the next day, and he said he wanted to hang out again. No specifics, though, so I’m leaving the ball in his court. I initially asked him out and picked the place and everything, so we’ll see if he reciprocates. I won’t be too crushed if doesn’t.
I’m just now catching up on DW.
Money, I’m sorry that happened, but I have to say, I appreciate that he texted you back to let you know that he wasn’t feeling it. that’s so much better than ghosting or absolutely nothing. Also, I agree with the others… there was nothing you could have done. Totally not you. But I completely understand your heart hurting a bit.
Yay to first kisses and good dates.
Oh… and you all were right. The guy mentioned the MI day trip again and so I said something about joining… and yeah, he was inviting me last week and I totally didn’t pick up on that. Well done everyone.
LooSeptember 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm #384146This weekend I had a double date at a stand-up comedy club. Afterwards we all went back to my place for milkshakes and card games. It was such a fun evening! Comedy makes for a great date (my usual go-to would just be to watch stand-up comedy on Netflix because I am frugal).
KSeptember 28, 2015 at 2:07 pm #384147@veritek33 have fun in DC! I was just in DC for a wedding this past weekend and we had brunch at a place called Ted’s Bulletin. They have a bakery up front and while we were waiting for a table we split a giant fresh donut and a bacon cheddar scone biscuit. OMG! Amazing. I should’ve bought 5 more biscuits. They also apparently have homemade Pop Tarts that are yummy. I know there are a million great places to eat in DC but if you happen by this place, go in and get something from their bakery 🙂
Thank you K. Yesterday was a shit show of a day (busted back windshield, nasty email from a lady i sold something to on Craigslist, mom showing up unexpectedly) and I kinda had a little mini breakdown. Tinder Teacher had been texting with me and then he just picked up the phone and called me and railed against the Craigslist lady and basically made me laugh for an hour and encouraged me to go get ice cream and told me how to do a temp fix on my back windshield. I can’t wait to see him again.
TheLadyESeptember 30, 2015 at 11:53 am #384485Trying not to get too anticipatory, but I have a date on Friday with a new guy from OKCupid. He & I seem to be really compatible (shared values, interests, etc) and we’ve been exchanging messages for a couple of days. He seems really intriguing, vibrant, & fun; ironically he has almost the exact same first name as Hippie Artist Guy – their names are literally a variation of each other’s – but hopefully that means it’ll be easy to remember! Since he volunteers with a big cat rescue locally, I’m dubbing him the Lion Tamer.
I really do like Hippie Artist Guy, but I’m trying to keep my options open because he seems, well, non-committal.
So here goes nothing: date with the Lion Tamer on Friday!
September 30, 2015 at 11:56 am #384488Great that you’re keeping your options open, LadyE! Hope you have a wonderful date!
