Ha ha, too funny! It’s been a year and I still don’t really love driving the van. It feels so top heavy. We rarely need all the room, but twice a month or so we take all the cousins out. The rest of the time, I’m quietly muttering to myself in the driver’s seat how much I miss my old car.
My first drink, Amaretto was in a van. Maybe giving teenagers minivans isn’t a good idea. HahahHa.
I love driving stick still but fewer cars with it. I only like driving it for fun now though not as my daily driver. I can drive anything stick though so sometimes it was fun at our old shop to be able to go have fun in some crazy amazing cars that half the men could barely handle.
I meant similar weather is annual snowfall, which I didn’t clarify. Of course me getting a taste of my first Illinois winter, well we all know how the weather has been. Great way to break me back in. The amount of sweaters, coats and boots I’ve had to buy.
I just took a nap and it was glorious. I have slept terribly the past two nights and was so exhausted. Much needed. I also remembered that being off evil medication I can take something to sleep if I need now. Wish i would’ve remembered the last two nights. I do Trader Joe’s chewable melatonin or the Costco sleep aid. Those two don’t make me groggy. For some reason the other brand melatonin I’ve taken gives me insane dreams. Must remember to get my mom to send me some of the Tjs one I like since no stores here.
Although my nap included a dream of me filing my nails on the wing of a plane then not being able to get back in while mid air. No medication for that insane dream. Haha. So weird.
Is @Copa on her trip? I feel we haven’t seen her much but don’t remember when it was.
Must take sleeping pill tonight. My dog seems to think 12:30, 2:30, 3:30 are all time to go to the bathroom. I didn’t last night since I decided wine with dinner was priority and I didn’t feel good mixing the two.
Looks like snow coming, but luckily for the weekend. Trying to think of a fun date night for hubs and I think weekend. There’s an arcade place around here (adult one not Dave and Busters) which is a bar and arcade. They had one over the river but recently opened one closer. I think I may need to destroy him in Ski Ball and Pac Man. Seems like a fun idea.
Also need to figure out his anniversary gift. Hmmm……… I want to get him a new iWatch as he has the first generation and uses it a lot but we were trying to keep it cheaper with all the expenses right now and coming up. First year is paper right? Sooo…. Still blank 🙂 I wish men in general were easier to shop for. I am sure some are easier but I have yet to meet one….other than my uncle who pretty much never stops talking about an ice cream maker I bought him. haha.
KFebruary 28, 2019 at 2:20 pm #834045@kmtthat congrats! I’m also planning a short engagement and am starting to feel the stress of it all. On Saturday we’ll have been engaged for 2 weeks and I hope to have a venue decision by that day, I have one more to look at Saturday morning. We’re shooting for September or October of this year. I’m also 34 and basically the last of my friends to get married. I’ve realized I’m not going to have a dream venue that I envisioned (barn with a beautiful view), but the places we’re looking at are super close by and reasonably priced with great views of the river.
February 28, 2019 at 7:04 pm #834109Yea I lost my virginity in the Eurovan just after high school. It’s also the vehicle that I did my driving test in (including attempting to parallel park).
fWD.. my dad wouldn’t let me get my license until we did a full winter season in the snow. Rwd would be insanity
TheHizzyMarch 1, 2019 at 8:53 am #834145I drive a stick as my daily driver, and have for over 10 years now. I currently live in a pretty flat area, but my first one I was in a pretty hilly area.
They have done a lot of technology with manual transmission now. There’s a “roll back” protection. I can take my foot off the brake and there’s a delay before I start to roll back. It’d be enough for someone to switch their foot to gas and go. It took me a long time to get used to having that delay option.
We paid off half our vendors yesterday. It felt like a good day to do so. It’s really nice. The way I have been working it, I’ve been paying a little out of each paycheck and I’m finally exhausted of payments. So, finally dipped into our wedding savings and paid off. It was still under $2 so not bad.
Wow @K didn’t know you were engaged! Congrats!
I remember you posting here something about your now-fiance satlling a little with the marriage talk. Glad that worked out.I’ll be 34 this year as well. No boyfriend, no dating, not even a crush. So, I won’t be married anytime soon. Funny though, my best friends are in the same situation. None of us have a boyfriend. We are all 33-34. If I were to be married soon, I’d be the first of our group. It’s tough out there!
