I don’t remember any milestone dates! Although, I do remember my anniversary date with my first serious boyfriend and still use it as a password sometimes. It’s been my phone password for years, but I didn’t start using it until we’d already broken up (was actually seeing someone new when I first got a phone that requires a password). Not sure if that’s weird.
Nah, most of my passwords are my exes and my anniversary…and I am talking college ex. I wouldn’t remember it otherwise as I just kept using it for so long….also it was back in the day when changing things like your PIN required a lot more work than logging into an account and typing it in, so I was not inclined. Actually my passwords are our initials and date.
KateMarch 6, 2019 at 10:45 am #834753I remember milestone dates like crazy. I’m good with numbers. Our first date was the Tuesday before 4th of July, 2012, and each year we have margaritas at the bar where we had our first Match date (not that we aren’t there twice a week anyway), including every Tuesday.
This relationship is the only one I remember “milestones”… and every year on the 19th the husband gets me gummy sharks. For our first date, we went to a bar on the south side specifically for a cocktail special that was written up in the paper. It had gummy sharks. The cocktail was already off the menu 🙁
@TheHizzy How did you and FMH meet again? That’s a great relationship motto, haha.
I remember my anniversary with my second long-term boyfriend, but have never felt compelled to make it a password. When I started online dating after him and realized it was kind of like being on a hamster wheel of early dates and out, I stopped going into first dates with any kind of expectation that it’d lead to a relationship. I remember general timeframes, like “met in summer, fizzled in fall.”
@ktfran I think that’s a really cute gesture and low-key way to acknowledge an anniversary. BG and I went to our first date at a wine/tapas bar that’s under the same ownership as an Argentinian steakhouse that’s (I think) next door. We’ve already talked about going to the steakhouse this summer as a nod to one year of dating. (As an aside, I was single for so long that it feels kinda crazy to imagine celebrating an anniversary again.)
Aww, love reading all of your stories! Also belated congrats to K and welcome back Copa and fingers crossed Ver!
I thought with OLD it’d be easier to know or set a milestone date but I guess it’s all context. I did look ours up maybe a couple months in but I do remember it vividly and time of day it happened. Actually we were hanging out the night before my bf left for work again and I was like if we stay up until midnight (but it was a work night) it’ll be our 18 month. Totally jokingly of course!!
It is! It’s perfect.
Ooh, @copa, if it’s the one I’m thinking, the restaurant is really good. And BYOB!! When I lived in that neighborhood, I would stop at the market next door and pick up a couple of empanadas after my yoga class. They were cheaper than the others in the area and so, so good!
