what a lovely dress! And congrats on closing on your house…exciting all around!
September 15, 2021 at 12:41 pm #1097797@hfantods, Congrats!! That is really exciting and also super awesome you found something within the GTA I presume? I have a few friends who have just bought a place, and or in the process, and it is so daunting to me! I am still probably 5 years out from getting one due to finishing school and getting back into full time well paid work. But nice to have some friends that will have bought before me and use for advice and resources.
September 15, 2021 at 12:46 pm #1097800I have been dabbling again in dating, unfortunately was turned down by one guy I had gone out with 4 times, pretty sure it was due to me not wanting kids, and him wanting them. Although it wasn’t explicitly stated, it would be a dealbreaker for me on my end anyways.
I was seeing someone concurrently, and it seems we match better, he isn’t super keen on kids and or doesn’t have a strong affinity for them. We have date 4 planned this weekend to go to a game room, somewhat like an arcade but larger and way more diversity in games. Then dinner at his place 😉
September 15, 2021 at 12:55 pm #1097802@hfantods, the dress is gorgeous and I love the color.
We’re supposed to go to a wedding in November as well, but we will most likely skip the church service (which we would have anyway since a 3pm service and getting a babysitter for our kids.. not super convenient). The reception is close by at Bridgeport Arts Center which is a huge warehouse. I feel better about that.
@Cleopatra_30 Sucks to be turned down but always better to know of these big dealbreakers early on. Hope the fourth date with the other guy goes well!
@MG OMG. I’ve been to the Bridgeport Arts Center before and would love to go to a wedding there. It’s such a great, cool space. The chandeliers/light fixtures at the main entrance, the freight elevator (totally decked out when I was there around the holidays several years ago), the loft space, the city views. Ugh, I’m not someone who dreams of her wedding but I have liked the industrial chic ones I’ve been to and if I had all the budget in the world (I assume this is a $$$$ venue) and the desire to plan a big wedding, that place would be on my list. Haha. Have fun!
LisforLeslieSeptember 15, 2021 at 2:52 pm #1097806@Kate – I use the Bumble & Bumble air dry – it’s lovely, no stiffness, no stickiness but I find that it doesn’t hold in super humidity. I have super fine baby hair so I can’t use anything that’s too oily or silicon based. I end up looking like all of those “wet hair” looks that I just do.not.like.
@Hfanttods – that dress is GORG. Take the planning one day at a time, don’t set expectations too high, aim low, be happy if you can get more than expected.
September 15, 2021 at 4:09 pm #1097807What a pretty dress – congrats!
Good luck on date 4, cleopatra!
Back to make-up and skincare briefly: Last night was a date night for us and I didn’t put any make-up on until evening. I didn’t reapply sunscreen. The Estee Lauder product I mentioned is still a nice one, but I realized the Supergoop! Glowscreen I wear is the reason my makeup looks so nice these days. It really does make my skin glow. May not be great for those with oily skin, but it’s working great for me. I used to shy away from any products that promised glow afraid I’d look greasy instead of radiant or dewy, but I’m loving this one.
