Thanks, Kate! I’ll try a deep conditioner. I don’t usually use any irons – I don’t usually even blow dry.
@Helen – I’m with you. I don’t know that we’ll ever get the virus under control – even with a vaccine with people like that because I’m sure they won’t get it. If a vaccine is found I hope it’s mandatory for those that can get it so that those of us who can’t will be protected. But that is not likely to happen.
@Helen Do you know if there has been any spike in cases in GA since they reopened? I’ve seen the numbers, and it looks like no, but have also read conflicting information about whether GA’s reported numbers reported are even accurate. Just curious if you have more intel — it can be hard to gauge what’s going on in other areas.
My haircut is next week and I am pumped!
@Rangerchic I’m sure there are many great hair masks/deep conditioners out there. I use a Kerastase mask every now and again (too lazy to create a real routine out of it) and it works really well. I also use the Aussie three minute miracle deep conditioner maybe a couple times a week.
Copa, its hard to tell if there’s been a spike in GA. People were fired for not being willing to fudge to fudge the numbers. There is still a delay in testing and the longer you wait to test the more inaccurate it is. Were I live its such a badge of honor to not “fall for the libtard scam” that I wouldn’t be surprised if people hid having the virus. Or never sought care for their “flu”. If we do see a spike everyone will undoubtedly blame BLM protests for it. Not their Memorial day travel, mother’s day gathering, beach vacation, or their own armed protests for haircuts & dine in service.
How are you feeling these days, Helen? I haven’t wanted to stress you by pestering you about it but I have been concerned.
Fyodor, I’m feeling well! All virus symptoms are gone & I’m getting my stamina back. I’ve been sober (again) for 6 weeks now. Most importantly, I feel happy & hopeful again. Thanks for asking!
thanks, @Copa! I’ll look into some. I usually only wash my hair about twice a week. A little more if it gets too dirty but that is my go to. It helps that I got my hair thinned at the salon the other day. It feels much better for now!

Just got back from the grocery store…went to WF (Whole Foods) instead of KS (King Soopers which is owned by Kroger) and the mask wearing shoppers at WF was much better compared to KS. Even though I hate to spend a little more on groceries (though they do have some stuff I really like) I’ll keep shopping there as I feel safer. They actually mark out 6ft lines for waiting on cashiers. KS doesn’t do anything like that and it gets way to crowded.
Maybe that’s why all of my grocery shopping experiences during Covid have been positive, Whole Foods. The only thing they’re having trouble keeping stocked is rice. And occasionally flour. The husband and I have a system. I go to produce, two dry good aisles and dairy. He does the meat counter, fish counter and deli. We’re in and out in 15 to 20 minutes!

I haven’t had many bad grocery shopping experiences. The first weekend that things were getting kinda weird was chaos and there was one grocery trip to a neighborhood grocery store, pre-mask requirement but after other stores had started implementing their own measures, where nobody seemed to be taking any precautions. And it’s a small grocery store with narrow aisles, I kept getting bumped. I mostly shop at Trader Joe’s, which has been requiring masks and limiting capacity. The line moves quickly even when it’s long. I don’t get anxious shopping there.
I did! The owner had a contract with Nike that was immediately canceled. There were some other deals that were canceled. And I think he had another restaurant that closed. I mean, what did he expect. I finally walked by it yesterday since the protests. The once bright pink building is now black with the BLM fist painted next to it.

I mean, what did the owner expect? Although I’m glad he showed his true colors. Even before officially closing, I told the husband we would no longer patronize his restaurant.
Now, if 5411 wants to open an empanada place there, or Tolo from Southport, I wouldn’t be upset. That’s the one thing I miss about the old neighborhood. I had Tolo, 5411 and el Mercado (the argentinian market) anytime I wanted a Sat or Sun snack.
