    BM sorry to hear about your ex. Fwiw, notwithstanding my current situation the household spread rate is like twenty percent so there may be a good chance your kid an you did not get it.

    Yeah it really seems like a total crapshoot in regards to getting it or not. Honestly the thing that gets me is worrying about my daughter being worried. Like – it’s been scary and stressful already for her, and now mom’s got it?

    I was distressed to hear this is hitting so close to home for so many of you. You all deserve better.

    Increasingly, I’m frustrated all these people are dying from it and yet I live on. If COVID is so damn determined to kill people off, take me. The blasted disease from hell would at least be doing me a favor.

    Just got a scary letter from unemployment. They may have been overpaying me. Great. Another headache. Hopefully, they’ll demand back a bunch of money I no longer have and I can promptly drive off the nearest cliff in good conscience.

    Once all your dreams are dead —- you might as well be.

    Fuck 2020. Fuck everything.

    My 81yo FIL tested positive a week ago. He’s completely asymptomatic. He got tested before attending a dinner party. He’s been socializing regularly throughout the pandemic, though he did stop traveling. I locked down at the start but ended up bedridden for almost 2 months when I caught it at age 38. This virus is so random. And unfair.

    How is everyone that recently tested positive doing?

    I’ve had pretty persistent nausea and on and off muscle pain for about a week. It hasn’t been so bad in an of itself-I haven’t been bedridden. It’s just the general uncertainty about the disease’s course and the abrupt way that my mom died from it adds a lot of fear and uncertainty to the process. On average it is a fourteen day disease course with things improving around day ten. So hopefully I’ll start seeing some improvement around the end of this week.

    Glad that BoF is recovered and hope you are feeling back to normal as soon as possible.

    @Helen
    – is your FIL quarantining now or has just decided that his friends can die so he can have a night out?

    Glad your wife is doing better fyodor! I hope your recovery is swift and that your dad is doing well.

    Lisforleslie, my FIL is obeying quarantine. Unfortunately, he’s quarantined with his 81yo partner who has lots of health concerns. She relies on his help for daily tasks. Hopefully she doesn’t catch it. We dropped off supplies at their door and when they waved at us through the window they were both wearing masks.

    So glad to hear your wife is better, Fyodor and I hope you recover swiftly, too. Your anxiety is understandable.

    @Helen – I’m very glad to hear it.

    Also, Fyodor & Helen and everyone else, please please please consider signing up for trials that investigate long term impact of Covid. At this point, I’ve only seen limited trials/patient recruitment but hospitals and universities are extremely interested in this because they want to learn what’s coming in the future.

    clinicaltrials.gov

    Here’s one in Ontario that has not yet started recruiting https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04584671?recrs=b&cond=covid&draw=5
