My friend whose parents are in Arizona said it was really easy for them. In PA it’s pretty chaotic.

I read that there’s a county on Az with so much vaccine doses, they’re giving them to anyone over 18. I think there’s been a really wide range of rollout experiences across the country, and much of it makes no sense.

I’m in my hometown in downstate IL. My grandma passed away last night, it was sudden. I needed to be here for my mom. They have a mass influx of the JJ vaccine here and a week full of available appointments. The husband and I are strongly considering lying and saying we were smokers (i hate lying). Although we might not even have to do that. My dad heard they’re opening up further here on Monday. I hope that’s the case.

Thank you @kate. I’m thankful it was pretty swift, whereas all my other grandparents had long, drawn out deaths.

It’s been a rough week. My niece was having some problems too. She tried cutting herself last weekend and was admitted. They did let her out last night. Thank goodness. I was feeling numb and helpless all week from that.

It feels good to be with the family. I think we all need it.

I just saw they’re going to open a mass vaccination site at Cape Cod Community College next week. That’s good, a lot of the people who live year round on the cape are older, like my parents. And the closest mass vaccination site prior to this was I think Foxboro Stadium which is at least 90 minutes from where they live. Not that they don’t love driving around for something to do, but residents of the cape should have an option ON the cape.

That’s great, Kate. Hopefully your parents can get an appt there, if they don’t find one sooner.

Here in nyc they’re going to start doing home vaccinations with the J&J vaccine for housebound folks, which is good too.

My neighbor upstairs, who’s 86, managed to somehow get an appointment. We take him to doctor appointments when he needs a ride so he doesn’t have to do taxis and the T. I’m going with him next week for his 2nd appointment. I’m not going to say a word, but if they offer me a shot I will take it. I’ll wear a cold-shoulder top to send a signal that I’m down for it.
