Hooray for all the good news! I get my second Moderna tonight at 4, Radiostar gets his tomorrow, and my brother gets his Wednesday! Hiphiphooooraaayyy
Had a friend visiting this weekend and guys… its like I don’t know how to socialize anymore.
My mom got her second Moderna shot on Saturday. She wasn’t feel great yesterday, very tired and had a low fever.
I’m jealous of everyone I know getting vaccinated. I’ve been calling a handful of pharmacies at like 4:30 every day just in case something is available to me, but so far no luck. If we keep on the current rollout schedule, I’ll be eligible in less than two weeks. Walgreens in Chicago had pretty wide open availability this morning. I hope it’s just as wide open when I’m finally eligible to make an appt. I’m not sure how far out appointments go, but might start looking for myself in earnest next week.
ETA: My friend and her husband in suburban Detroit just got vaccinated even though neither fall into their current eligibility group. I guess Rite Aids in that area have a lot of J&J lying around that eligible folks don’t want? I do feel jealous that it’s so easy for people in some areas.
March 15, 2021 at 12:40 pm #1031832I’m so happy for all that have been able to receive their vaccine! My county sucks ass at distribution. I’ve also heard that they aren’t receiving as many doses from the state as we need. There’s a pharmacy finder for Colorado and the only appointments are at pharmacy’s that are starting at 88 miles away. If it was a one and done I’d drive that far but for two doses that is so far away. Not to mention the disclaimer about having issues with appointments. I don’t want to drive that far only to be turned down.
LisforLeslieMarch 15, 2021 at 1:42 pm #1031833There is a vaccination site around the corner that might be able to take me, especially now that the olders have all gone. I’m getting a note from my doctor to see if I can get it in Florida. If not, I’ll get on the NYC waiting list at the appropriate time.

We recently had some restrictions eased, we can now have social gatherings outside, however it it limited to 10 people and those people must be your entire bubble until things get better or relaxed more. Still no indoor gatherings etc. But at least I can extend my social bubble a bit more for the summer.
Recalling my visit to NYC two years ago around April, I imagine there are some very spring like conditions coming around the east coast right now. We have full cherry blossoms, lots of crocuses and warmer weather here in BC. Gotta see the light where it is these days 🙂
March 16, 2021 at 12:10 pm #1031850My arm is really sore (and that’s extended up to my neck). Otherwise, the slight tiredness I feel could be the vaccine.. or it could be that I have a nearly 4 month old and a 2.5 year old..
LisforLeslieMarch 16, 2021 at 2:31 pm #1031859i would happily sign up for the J&J – it has as good or better coverage than the moderna and Pfizer. People are stupid. I’ll repeat it again – if you have the option to take the vaccine and choose not to, if you get sick you’re on your own. No paid health treatment, no ICU bed. People who have car accidents, heart attacks, strokes and other issues need those beds.
MG – glad you’re doing ok.
ktfran – woooo!March 19, 2021 at 9:13 am #1031992Just to continue sharing anecdotal data, I got my second Pfizer dose this week and had very minimal side effects – less than I did after the first dose. I was tired enough to skip my daily peloton workout, but no other side effects beyond that, and I felt normal about 36 hours post-shot. I didn’t even really have any arm soreness this time.
