This is the virtual press conference the FDA conducted. They answer questions from a bunch of news people – worth a slightly distracted listen if you can.
Thank you to all who voted for my dog! He got third place, which is still a prize bag with bully stick and toys. And the people who work there told us they thought he had the best costume. I can understand “Snoop Dog” winning, although I side-eye it a bit, but a golden retriever dressed as a bougie piece of sushi won first place?? Her mom must be an influencer. The dog herself only has 266 followers.

A study published in the journal Nature Medicine found that the risk of adverse neurological events due to SARS-CoV-2 infection is much higher than the risk of such events tied to vaccination is. Researchers included in their study rare neurological complications linked to immunization with the Oxford/AstraZeneca and Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines.

Not putting link directly because I don’t feel like registering but this came through my Drug Information Association daily briefing.
AllornoneNovember 4, 2021 at 11:15 am #1099763YAY!
So happy my niece can be vaccinated now too (and knowing my sister, the appointment has already been made). She’s the youngest and the only remaining unvaxxed in our family. She’s been double-masking at school (we’re in Florida, where our oh-so-lovely-governor has a vendetta against mask mandates), and I know everyone will feel a lot safer now.
Just got an email from my company that says OSHA issued an emergency temporary standard today requiring employees in businesses with 100 or more workers be fully vaccinated or provide weekly tests. They’re going to follow up with next steps soon. I’m sure there are people even in our New England offices who aren’t vaxxed, and more in our southern offices. This could get interesting.
VathenaNovember 4, 2021 at 11:31 am #1099766That is FANTASTIC news, Wendy!! I’m so happy for you! And a little jealous you got them so fast, lol. Our appointment is on Saturday morning and I’m on pins and needles waiting even 2 more school days. One more step towards something like normalcy. It’s really the only news that’s keeping me from being massively depressed about the election results here in Virginia.
November 4, 2021 at 11:42 am #1099771Thanks, guys!
Vathena, I’m sorry about Virginia! I heard that ever since Reagan, the party that holds the presidency loses the election in the first voting cycle in Virginia (and NJ, which the Dems actually won). Doesn’t change the outcome or it’s consequences, but hearing that made it feel not as devastating on a national-level, at least.
