Last week, my regional executive (about 30 states) sent an e-mail promoting a return to the office, aiming for three days a week. But we also have an initiative called Freedom to Grow, so people are supposed to chat with their managers and agree on an office/wfh scenario.
I’ll continue to go into the office for strategy meetings or when needed.
Right now, I’m asking my team to come in only when necessary, so if we’re prepping for a client presentation or they’re needed for a strategy session. I may eventually ask for us all to come in at least one day a month, on the same day. We’ll see.
I do know other teams are requiring more in-office appearances. Like our architecture/urban planning/interiors group in Chicago are coming in three days a week. Our transportation engineers are rarely in. Our water engineers are in almost every day.

Still TBA when we will be back. The target date has been moved several times since summer 2020. They haven’t bothered setting any kind of target date since last summer, when we were anticipating a fall return in a hybrid capacity that never happened. My company errs on the more cautious side of things. We are currently pushing forward with plans for an in-person conference that we have every June, though, and assuming that goes as planned, can see it being used as the event that steers us back toward in-person activities.
My local friends and family are all over the map, though I’d say at least half are still full-time remote. My sister has been going into the office a few days/week since last fall. She has a coworker based out of another office who, it turns out, was caught lying about being vaccinated. I have one friend who started going into the office every day voluntarily because she wasn’t doing well mentally working remote.
February 27, 2022 at 4:56 pm #1102942I hope a balance can be found that works well for everyone. Working from home can be so good for quality of life. I think it would be incredibly jarring to work from home successfully for two year and then be told to switch back to full-time working from an office. It doesn’t sound like that’s what’s happening for most people though.

Yeah looks like they have slip-on ones that you could wear like a flat.
The adidas ones I have are a lot like this: https://www.thefryecompany.com/collections/women-shoes-sneakers/products/ivy-low-lace-3471183-71183-white
I want those in gold!
I love my M.Gemi drivers.

I have a leopard print and purple suede. They mold to your feet nicely.
