Related to the coin: Have you guys seen the ad on TV for Trumpy Bear? I see it occasionally on channels that show a lot of as-seen on TV commercials. It has a red-blonde shock of hair and a pull out American flag! I can’t tell if the commercial is serious or satire- it could go either way! Check it out if you want a chuckle. (I do wonder who orders stuff like this though…)
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trumpy-bear/@LisforLeslie – THANK YOU. I’ve ordered some and hopefully they help. I honestly dont know why that sent me over the edge this morning. Been holding up pretty well with the stress and all, but the eyebrows were apparently just too much.
TheLadyEApril 30, 2020 at 5:49 pm #885049Wellllll I’ve been feeling run down the last week-ish and my back has started hurting, plus a few other things – today I finally realized what it was: a kidney infection from a UTI. Woo frickin hoo. I’m really prone to them because I’m very petite and they just happen at least 1-2x a year no matter what I do. So that means I have to go to the doctor tomorrow and get antibiotic. In the middle of a pandemic. As an extremely high risk person.
My boyfriend is really not wanting me to go and has told me to keep calling and see if they can prescribe me antibiotic over the phone. I keep calling and leaving messages but no one has called me back yet.
The ironic thing is I’ve been so obsessed with making sure I didn’t have the ‘rona: no cough, fever, sore throat, body aches, etc that when this started last week it didn’t even register. Cool cool. And during the 3rd week of my new job where I really need to bring my A game. Cool.
Helen, how are you feeling? Everyone else who had symptoms – everyone ok??
@TheLadyE I’m inclined to agree with your boyfriend! Is this something you can do a virtual doctor’s visit to take care of? Kind of shitty that you can’t get your calls answered or returned, but… I’m sure they have a lot going on. I hope you’re able to get a hold of them by phone before your appointment!
I’ve had another week where my emotions have been allll over the place. Not sure why, though I suspect our weather hasn’t helped. Like I logically know my situation is pretty good, all things considered, but I still had a rough week. Lost my shit during the series finale of Schitt’s Creek…why? I have a teletherapy appointment in a few minutes, thank goodness.
Thinking of all of you who are sick or otherwise have it worse than I do, though.
Hope you take care, Helen.
@Copa, I’ve spoken with some other people and I think this week has been tough for people too, me included.
My aunt was admitted to the hospital a couple weeks ago, non-COVID related. She’s not going to make it. I feel so much for my uncle and cousin. They were fortunately able to see her tonight and could video-call in my dad and his siblings. It is such a sad, sad time.
LisforLeslieMay 1, 2020 at 6:06 am #885075@hfantods – I’m so sorry for you and your family.
@TheLadyE – call your doctor before you do anything, she may be able to give a prescription instead of dragging you into the office.
@Helen – find us when you’re back, take care of yourself in the meantime
@alafair – welp that’s my success story for the week. Thank you and tip your server!May 1, 2020 at 10:38 am #885085That Trumpy bear is the stuff of nightmares!
Well it sounds like a less-than-stellar week for everyone, unfortunately.
Ohhh yeah, that they should definitely be able to prescribe that over the phone TheLadyE. Do you have mychart? Sometimes sending a message on there is the best way to reach my doctor.
Take care of yourself Helen! What a shitty time this is right now, and it’s good that you’re going to get some help since it feels like too much to do on your own.
So sorry for your loss, hfantods.
Take care of yourself, everyone! What a time.
I’m sorry for your loss, @hfantods!
I ended up moving my dog’s grooming appointment to this morning, which opened back up here today. It was totally contact-free. The place we go to, their lobby is closed, so they have people enter with their pets through a side gate and close it, then take off your dog’s leash/harness/collar before they open a second gate to let your pet bounce on in naked and alone. Sanitizer and wipes outside the gate. Anyway, glad to be able to get this errand done, even though it’s certainly not essential, and glad it was done in a way that felt okay.
My boyfriend is going golfing tomorrow morning with a few of his friends. No carts, max groups of two, staggered tee times. I’m curious what he’ll think of the experience. (I don’t golf so hard for me to gauge from personal experience but have heard from a few others who do that they think the precautions sound like they’ll make golf a very low risk activity.)
Right before all of this started, I put off getting new glasses and I know that’s also not truly essential, but MAN do I wish I had pulled the trigger in mid-February before my vacation.
TheLadyEMay 1, 2020 at 10:53 am #885087Good news – I finally got through to someone at my doctor’s office and I am going to do a Telehealth appointment instead of going in. They said they may need me to come in and drop off a urine sample though. We’ll see after 4:30!
Despite being exhausted and in pain I had a pretty good week at work and my boss is happy with me. Yay. Finishing up this afternoon and then resting.
Hope everyone else is doing better today.
