What?! Who just uses a strangers brush? Even assuming she thought it was a human brush -that grossed me out. Brushes are just not something to be shared, IMO. At the very least she should have asked. Maybe the brush’s owner wouldn’t want to share such personal item.
On top of that – that brush looks like no brush for people I’ve ever seen. She’s either an idiot or deliberately trying to milk you for money (or both). I wouldn’t have offered to pay for anything, this is entirely her fault.
HazelApril 10, 2018 at 2:10 pm #749730this really is sort of hilarious, although if it happened in a comedy show, I’d be going yeah; right, what sort of person just picks up a strangers’ comb and uses it- that wouldn’t happen in real life–even my closest friends would not—-and yet it did! You are so kind, to offer her anything. She is unbelievable to think she can con you out of that amount of money. I have really really long hair and I understand that she must be upset (I’d be devastated at my own stupidity) but hey this is definitely her mistake and you have no liability at all.Was she inebriated? Is she still inebriated? If so, she is going to feel seven shades of silly when the hangover kicks in.In a few years’ time this one is going to be your dinner-party gem anecdote.
I don’t understand why the husband’s friend is backing his wife up. He should tell his wife to stfu and pay for whatever himself. Are they like desperate for money or something? I don’t understand why her husband isn’t embarrassed by his wife’s actions. If my husband did something like this (having the nerve to go through my friends personal items) I would never ask my friend to pay for it. That would be so embarrassing! Sounds like they are both wacky wack.
My grandfather used to have the human version of that combs back in the 60s. It is still sitting in my Grandmother’s bathroom drawer.Yeah, we had this weird round comb when I was little, that had blades in it like that. It was for people, but not sure if it was my dad’s or mom’s or whose… I definitely combed my hair with it at least once and ripped/cut some off. Pretty sure no one cared.
April 11, 2018 at 12:15 pm #749761My hair stylist has a similar comb as well, now that I think about it! She uses it to thin out my hair sometimes. 😛 It looks like a typical black plastic comb but… it’s got little blades in between the teeth. I’ve never seen one outside of her salon. 😛
This is madness. I would be so embarrassed if I did something stupid like that at someone’s house. I wouldn’t offer to pay her since it wasn’t your fault. Brush your hair at home lady! What kind of person even asks for compensation for something like that? I couldn’t be friends with them in more than a casual way after that. It just says something nasty about you that you would try to take advantage of someone like this.
CETApril 12, 2018 at 6:48 am #749793Wow. Just wow. That woman is a piece of work! You were generous to offer her anything. That was extremely kind of you. Who uses someone else’s brush when visiting a stranger’s house? Who can’t see what is OBVIOUSLY a dog brush? That lady is completely nuts and not too smart. You owe her nothing.
Whoa. No! She’s ridiculous and completely at fault here! Who on earth picks up a brush they find lying outside on an acquaintance’s deck and uses it? Whaaaa? I doubt she’ll sue you, but if she does, let her — she won’t win. Don’t pay her, and don’t invite her or her husband over again.
Also, I’m also interested in this comb. My dog is shaggy and is prone to getting matted. He’s getting his first summer cut this weekend and I’m pumped to not have to brush him as much.
