@copa I have to laugh at the Bumble guy experience, as it was very similar to one I had way back last Spring when I was dating still. The guy I was chatting with randomly sent me an old photo of him sunbathing outside naked, so I too could see his entire backside. Called him out that it was inappropriate and I cancelled plans. He was trying to be funny, but it made no sense in the context of our previous conversations.
June 3, 2018 at 8:46 am #755156From my years of dating and using POF, OKcupid, Tinder (hookups tho!), and Bumble, they are all the same. I have never heard of friends or otherwise who have had that unique situation where quality men and responses come in. At the end of the day you have to make the app or website work for you, not the other way around. The websites may be different, but when the same types of people and even the same people use it, the results become the same. Perseverance and creativity help to work your way through the throngs of men and dating sites.

May 9, 2018 at 10:33 pm #752351@MaterialsGirl, awesome! Halifax is really a neat city. Very small but it has great charm to it. I suggest for places to eat Lower Deck on the waterfront (a cool place to walk during the day as well, there is a small plaza in the old buildings. Also great live band on the Friday/weekends!), Wooden Monkey (more geared towards vegetarian far, but still really good food!), The Maxwells Plum has a huge selection of beers on tap (including Big Spruce brews! You can taste them there before heading to CB), Sweet Hereafter Cheesecake factory makes homemade cheesecakes (they are out of downtown, but still a quick walk away about 20 min on Quinpool road in a black brick building), Dee Dees ice cream across from the Commons on the NE side makes homemade ice cream and some really cool flavours, and then Stillwell downtown on Barrington. Notable mention, the farmers market on the waterfront. If you are in on a weekend, definitely go (there may be a stall that sells lobster rolls, so tasty, best I have had compared to the tourist traps I have seen), and then all the great stalls and the great building the market is in.
May 3, 2018 at 7:15 pm #751847@MaterialsGirl I went to School in NS, there are some pretty cool breweries there! I visited one before coming back to Ontario called Big Spruce in Cape Breton. Super cool, really small, literal microbrewery. But they make one of THE best stouts, Cereal Killer. Highly recommend. Also CB is just gorgeous!
If you in Halifax at all during your trip I can recommend a couple cool places 🙂
May 3, 2018 at 8:07 am #751782I have been cutting back on frivolous spending as well, really analyzing what I spend, and then making sure I only have enough for the essentials to keep me on track. I will probably have a big slice of cake and wine to celebrate haha
@moneypenny, We had the Calgary comic con this past weekend and I got to meet Megan Follows! Got my friend a signed autograph for her, as she has been following her career more than I have 😛 Very sweet lady 🙂My friend and I have been sharing posts and pictures of PEI and hyping ourselves up for it 🙂
May 2, 2018 at 6:45 pm #751732@veritek I hear ya on debt. I am trying desperately to pay off my mastercard and get that under control. I was pretty transparent with my money woes with my BF and it was hard to open up about something so personal and daunting to him. So I think once I finally get it paid off we will celebrate. But it is so damn hard! I paid off some money for it then other stuff gets put on due to physio and work stuff.
No big trips planned for the near future, I have one I am kind of planning with my friend in the fall for PEI in the maritimes, as we are both Anne of Green Gables fans. I want to try and do something with my BF, as we keep talking about NY, but waiting on cheap flights to get there from Alberta. But then my mom and brother want to visit me, so not really sure how my last week of vacation will turn out.
April 7, 2018 at 11:39 am #749497@kate Agreed 😛
Easter was low key this year for me. I had my BF join me for my friends Easter potluck.
I also realized how strong my hormones can be around my period. I got into a bit of a depressed state. The next day, I was fine! Libido was back up and I felt way better. It scared me a bit how much of a swing it caused in me.
March 17, 2018 at 10:31 am #743498LOl my boyfriend and I were scrolling through reddit and came upon it. I sat there and was wondering the same thing…apparently there is a whole r/niceguys thread with very similar situations. Don’t read them at night alone. Too scary.
March 17, 2018 at 10:24 am #743495Hhans/blueskies, you realize your avatar is the same, hence the same login. Can’t fool us.
Found this on Reddit:https://i.redd.it/two4e1qqo8m01.jpg
Rings true to this exact situation.
March 12, 2018 at 7:06 pm #742765Well idk if it was his first 5K maybe he over exaggerated on his training. But really, a 5K? I don’t take those overly serious haha
I think he was using it as an excuse to keep the date short.
March 2, 2018 at 8:01 pm #741465@copa, that is awesome! I agree, keep texting as you usually would, get the ball rolling on another night out and see where it goes!
