Woo! Everyones a datin’!
@Ver where did vet and engineer guy come from? Online?
I have an orientation I am going to tomorrow in Edmonton for the rest of the week, kind of hoping for some sweet eye candy, but other than that livin’ the single life!
We had a really cute planner come into work today, his company does some consulting work for us, and is friends/old school mates with my co-worker. So that was lovely 😉
May 27, 2016 at 8:48 pm #519483@lucia_la It definitely sounds like he is pushing you away without just coming out and saying it. Prepare for the worst tonight, it really sucks I can imagine. But better 1 month in then 3 months! Best of luck tonight 🙂
@Stone oh man!! I am so sorry thing ended 🙁 It definitely sounded like you two were hitting it off really well. Your weekend sounds great though so focus on having fun and enjoying your friends company 🙂
I actually got asked out on a date last night, but turned them down. I went to a meetup group in Calgary that hosts game night events at various bars in the downtown. Really great fun! Met some new people. One guy chatted me up a bit throughout the night, so when I left he asked to go for drinks soon and got my number (at the time I wasn’t really able to ask if he wanted a date drinks or platonic drinks cause it was so busy and crowded). So anyways he texts me today and we chit chat then start making plans for drinks, and I finally ask him if this was intended to be a date or platonic hang out kind of thing. Nope he wanted to date. So I politely declined because I am new to the city and really want to make friends more than date, and honestly am not feeling like dating right now. He offered to invite me to his game nights with his friends in the future though, so I guess that might happen? So I have a nice confidence boost that I can get asked out in person (rather than online which I have done for most of my dating).
May 11, 2016 at 6:41 pm #499370@lucia_la sounds like you have had some awesome dates so far! You sound like you are in Europe somewhere…May have missed the post on where though.
And Austria would be so nice to visit! My parents went during their honeymoon, but only a stop over, they went to Slovania where my dads extended family is from, and then hopped over to a few countries bordering. From the pictures it looks like a gorgeous place, I am sure you will enjoy yourself!
May 8, 2016 at 5:32 pm #498892@hfantods Hey! I haven’t moved yet, on Tuesday I am leaving. Thank you for thinking about me! I will actually be east of Calgary, so very far south of Fort McMurray. It is a really unfortunate turn of events out there, and I hope as well anyone in Albert on DW near there, and the residents in general will come out stronger after this event.
May 4, 2016 at 3:26 pm #497677ChimingIn the idea of the diversion to clothing attire was to divert any more comments on the topic of Veritek (which is understandable since it got a little out of control). This has happened in the past, one famous rant was with SarahB, which reached over 100 pages of the commenters rambling on about anything but her to divert.
April 30, 2016 at 5:29 pm #496087@K free range kittens?!?! My friend would flip over that! We actually have a bunch of cat cafes in Ontario opening up. They bring in cats from the humane society for people to pet and play with while drinking coffee! They have nice cat towers for the cats to lounge in. Never been but sounds close enough to free range kittens haha
@kmtthat The opera sounds cool! Although I would also agree a ton of Italian would throw me off. Luckily if he knows the story it is easy enough to follow along. Have fun!
My race turned out okay, it was exhausting! Tons of hills and some narrow single track trails. I woke up with a scratch in my throat and running with an oncoming cold did not bode well. Went home after the race and realized I now have a full blown cold, runny nose, icky sick feeling. All the fun stuff! But I will still go to the party tonight, I want to see my friend. And the hike got cancelled for tomorrow on account of rain, so we are doing lunch instead at this great sandwich place.
April 28, 2016 at 4:40 pm #494248@MissDre damn that is such a pain! Gah I have such a pet peeve for flakiness and ghosting. Well at least you figured it out sooner rather than later! What happens if he contacts you though? Gonna turn him down or take a chance on a third date?
I have a trail run race (11.5km!) this Saturday, then a hair appointment to get my locks cut for the new job in May, then my friend is doing a birthday/going away party that evening out of town. THEN Sunday doing a hike with my mom somewhere as per her request before I leave Ontario for work! Busy weekend ya’ll!
