Yeah when I use up my Drunk Elephant stuff from before Accutane I’m going to try The Ordinary. Kinder to the budget.
FWIW, my dermatologist said you can’t really make the dark spots go away faster. It’s just time. But you want to keep your skin clean to avoid breakouts which restart your healing process. I’m not sure where your dark spots at from TheLadyE.
What order do you apply the products? Does retinol replace moisturizer at night?
I did use some retinols and maybe a chemical exfoliant about two years ago. Got into skincare and tried oil cleansing and I realized I didn’t wash all the oil off and I developed really bad acne. Went on Accutane which thankfully cleared everything and I’ve been ok for about a year. An occasional pimple mostly around the mask area!
So this is a good reminder to get back into skin care but I’m nervous to introduce new products. Right now I just use “Cerave in a tub” night and day and sunscreen for day.
@ver you might want to look into retinols and pregnancy because I think some people stop using retinols when they are pregnant?
Aw, thank you everyone!
Not at all, @copa. I’m so excited for you too! I meant that although we talked about marriage and our futures, it was all unexpected. To be honest, I was feeling a little anxious a couple weekend ago, because although I knew we were on the same page, it did hit me that there is a sort of timeline of family planning and all ?
As for details, we’ve been doing puzzles during the pandemic (lol). He told me he had a 100-piece puzzle done with our photo on it. I thought it was a little weird but rolled with it. I spilled out all the pieces and probably the fifth piece I looked at had the word “marry” on it. I was so surprised. I found it sooner than he thought it would so it caught him off guard too. He officially proposed. We finished the puzzle and called our families. I really couldn’t have asked for more!
So yeah the next step is to start planning. There are so many unknowns. I really feel for you ver! Ideally I would like a 150 person wedding (we both have large extended families and I would like to invite them all) but we would be looking at 2022 at best. I’m not sure if I want to wait that long and well it’s possible it won’t be “normal” then. I suspect a lot of 2021 dates are booked up and that would be a scaled back wedding which I’m ok with because —- pandemic!
Well, there are a lot more difficult things going on this moment. I’m just going to enjoy this very early stage!
I’m so sorry you got the coronavirus, ver. I’m glad overall you guys are OK. Did others get it at work before/around the same time as you?
I work at a small law firm and we are in the office. I think a lot of firms in my area are back in the office unless you are a large firm in an office tower. It is just us in our building and everybody is spaced out. You have to wear a mask unless your office door is closed. I feel relatively safe and honestly I’m grateful to be able to work in the office and see people. But I know there’s a risk and it is scary to think I could get it here. It also means I can’t fully quarantine and spend Christmas with my parents. I am fortunate I live 10 minutes away and I do see them maybe once a week with masks on and distanced. I just miss hugging my mom.
