Ok, this woman explains the looting situation just a litttttle bit better than I can.

They’re body-slamming women, throwing them to the ground, punching them, aiming guns at/near small children. It’s completely insane.
There was another incident in MA I saw on Boston.com where the guy was 85 and a veteran and someone beat him up. He had a Trump banner, which, yeah, but it’s never ok to beat up the elderly. And a quarter of the COVID deaths (I’ve also seen 40% in a work newsletter but I heard a quarter on cnn) were in nursing homes. Anyway. I don’t want to distract from 400 years of systemic racism and brutality, but wtf America.
Right, that part too, like why would you support that?? I know it’s a small thing in comparison to what else is going on, but it’s part of the whole disgusting picture right now.
Here’s another thing: WHY are people suddenly attacking elderly people? There are multiple stories lately. That, and GOP fuckheads asking them to sacrifice themselves for the economy, is a really disturbing new trend.

Btw, my retirement accounts are basically back to where they were in Feb, which is crazy given what’s going on in the economy.
Is the nail salon appointment only? I always call ahead because I hate waiting, but so many people just try to drop in. I figure they’ll require appointments like hair salons and barbers do now.
I skimmed it, and what I took away was the owner was potentially already problematic, then she tweeted about looting and doubled down on it when called out. Her employees would be highly unlikely to quit if she were a nice person who said one dumb thing. She was probably a jerk/lunatic and it was the last straw for these people.
My dad shaves his whole head anyway, and my mom went a little bonkers a while back and stopped going to the salon, cuts her own hair. She never got her nails done either.
But honestly I think I’m looking pretty good in quarantine.
I would like a pedicure too. I’ve been doing my own mani/pedis, and dealing with your own feet is a pain in the ass. Sitting that way hunched over is not natural and it hurts.
Btw, I was just picking the dog up at daycare and saw a full-on manicure happening next door. They haven’t even announced the date yet that nail salons can open.
