“is what she describes possible? Falling out of love with your partner, then falling back in love with your partner?”
I don’t think so, no. I don’t think that’s what happened. I think there was *attraction* and spark. That’s super common when you see your ex. Exes hook up all the time for sex because it’s exciting and fun without the commitment of a relationship. As soon as exes decide to try to date again though, they usually go right back to experiencing the same issues they did before the breakup.
She didn’t fall out of love, then in, then out. She got caught up in feeling sexual attraction, or maybe just nostalgia. Where that became a problem, was that she wasn’t single when this happened, so she cheated on you. The way she described this, it sounds like it could happen again under the same circumstances. It doesn’t seem like you really feel assured she won’t cheat again. Do you fully trust her?
Yeah I assume our CEO has an office, and probably some others (maybe L2s and L3s) but VPs, SVPs, and below do not. It kind of does suck always having to move around for meetings, but I also love how clean and uncluttered it is and how you run into people a lot to chat or just say hi.
But my friend who got hired during the pandemic tried a salad and was like, holy shit, better than SweetGreen and half the price! (She forgot to use the app to get $10 free lunch). I miss the salad bar so much, and the fruit-infused free water. The breakfast. All the food. So good.
Also, unrelated, but I ordered PANTS from Ann Taylor and they came yesterday. We really are starting to go back to the office. Some of my team went in yesterday, though I chose not to because I’m visibly hacking and sniffling, and no one needs a cold.
The word is, being back in the office is kind of nice, free lunch, whatever, but it’s NOT conducive to hybrid working. So much of our day is meetings, and you go in just to find somewhere to do a zoom call and everyone else is on zoom. Before, you’d book a room, and a bunch of people would be in the meeting room with you, and you’d maybe dial someone in.
The office, even before, didn’t have assigned seating. It had desks, huddle rooms, and conference rooms that had to be booked. So if it’s just you and you need quiet for a zoom call, you have to find a place to do it, so you’re running around. And also, before, everyone had to commute, so that was kind of factored in. Now they use that time for meetings, so if you’re the only one commuting, it’s stressful to find the time to actually get to the office and get settled. It doesn’t really make sense. I’m sure it will get figured out eventually, but it’s really weird.
@Cleopatra, my husband went on a work trip and came back with a cold and gave it to me. It sucks. It’s been over a week now of congestion, coughing, fatigue. After 20 months of excellent health, it feels like a really big deal. I hate it. I can’t believe we used to just go about our lives like this, go to work, spread it to everyone.
We keep a couple boxes of the home tests around, so he tested as soon as he got home, and then I tested, and tested again because I had a dentist appointment and they were like, can you just show a pic of your negative test. The tests are really nice to have. If they sell them at pharmacies near you, you should get a box.
Man, getting a booster on top of a cold my husband brought back from a work trip was shitty! It definitely reinforced that I do not want to get sick.
And these people that are like, my immune system is naturally strong, so I don’t need a vaccine, like… okay. I think mine is too. I’ve never had the flu. I take vitamins, including D. I walk outside for miles every day. I have a pretty healthy diet. I haven’t been sick in almost 2 years due to social distancing, but shit, I got knocked down by a cold. I probably wouldn’t die of Covid, but I definitely do not want it.
Yup, I made my husband an appointment at CVS for a booster, and my mom got my brother an appointment for tonight at CVS. He would qualify based on BMI, and he also has a delivery job. My husband doesn’t have underlying conditions but does travel for work. Interestingly, Walgreens will make you answer questions when you’re signing up and will tell you you’re not eligible. CVS doesn’t.
Right, BMI is stupid.
So the dentist didn’t ask me any questions about my potential conditions or eligibility, so I didn’t lie. Anyway, she gave me Pfizer… I had moderna before but she said you get a better response by mixing and matching. We’ll see how this goes. I have a cold anyway so might as well feel more like crap, who cares.
Would you all get a booster even if you’re not officially eligible? It has been 7 months since my 2nd shot, but I don’t have any conditions or a high risk job. But I have a dentist appointment today and they texted to ask if I want a booster. I was like, sure. Any reason not to?
