Doubling down on the cheap shot on someone’s mom, beautiful.

Ron, he could still win. Sorry I’m not dancing in the street about how some fucking dumb racists finally realized their lives actually got worse under Trump. At least they’re ALIVE and not passed away from coronavirus, police brutality, domestic terrorism, gun violence, uh, being deported to be murdered, injecting Lysol, etc. God.

    Here’s more from my mom:

“ I knew they were both kind of, i dont know, mainstream male is how I thought of it at the time. I didnt like it or respect it, but I didnt really have the language for the whole thing at the time. I felt out of step because other people didn’t feel the way I did. ”

Oh ok, I get it, I’M racist for having a picture buried in my desk at home, but people who voted for him aren’t. And “racist” gets tossed around too much these days. Totally. This all checks out.

Also, you just casually called my mom racist after clutching your pearls about people tossing the word racist around casually, so really nice job all around on that attempted shot.

    Oh, here’s her response:

“ I knew he was a showy conceited probably fake success…yes asshole but I didnt really use that term then. But didnt know like the whole racist background of his father, etc. He reminded me of Al sort of so that’s why I bothered to stop and get the autograph. It was kind of backhanded to Al. ”

(Al was my dickhead former uncle before he left my aunt for his best friend’s wife).

It’s not on display, and don’t even go there about my mom. That’s cheap as hell and you know it.

She was going to throw it away and I saved it because it’s like an artifact. It’s in a drawer in my desk. She was in New York on a business trip or something and saw the book signing. At the time, she didn’t know, but she figured it out well in advance of the election. She’s definitely never voted Republican.

Edit: she probably did know he was a dick at the time, and was buying the book for my dickhead uncle or something. I don’t remember it being around the house as a kid.

Aaahhgain. Anyone who voted for Trump said to themself, at the very least, “yeah, he bragged about sexually assaulting women, and he said terrible things about Mexicans, and he took out that full page ad in the New York Times accusing actually innocent Black teens of murder, and he insisted Obama is not American and didn’t apologize when proven wrong, and wants to ban Muslims, but you know what, I’m gonna just put that aside because I cannot bring myself to vote for that nasty woman.”

    They are racist.

To be fair too, you really didn’t try to understand where I was coming from.

    June 8, 2020 at 6:07 pm #888324

No, you’re right. I think I did spend a couple days though listening to where you were coming from. I really am genuinely sorry to sound mean here. I’m very angry and it’s been boiling for 4 years. I’m not quite sure your life’s been fucked up as much as other people’s, and I do think it’s insensitive and out of touch to be such a passionate defender of Trump voters. Sure, be tolerant, that’s nice, but don’t tie yourself in knots standing up for them. I never thought you were racist before yesterday, but now I don’t know. The whole, they voted for a Black president so they can’t be racist is pretty oblivious.

I mean, Ron, you can accept that they are racist and not be angry at them like I am. You can be compassionate and inclusive and try to persuade them to vote Biden. That’s cool. But the more you insist they could in no way be racist, the more you sound like you’re racist.

Anyway, this, again, from Leslie, is the truth:

“They may not feel they are racist, but they are sitting in their little bubble and what they’ve said is “I like PoC and I believe in equality, but it’s OK to vote for a blatant racist, if that means I get mine.”

    June 8, 2020 at 3:29 pm #888310

Is it though? If you don’t have a job because the economy is in the shitter, or you want a better job, and the Black man is offering you one? Offering real change? Or the economy has improved a lot in the 4 years the Black man was in office and you’d rather just roll with it?
