It won’t pass. But I’m all for unvaccinated Covid patients not being allowed a hospital bed if the hospital is full. I’m also for unvaccinated Covid patients not being covered by insurance. They have a choice. Their choice is to be reckless with their own health and the health of others. There are consequences for your choices.
It’s a shame this has become so politicized. It didn’t have to be this way.
You’re all right. At most, I could send to our benefits dept. and say I’m disappointed they decided to cut birth control. It’ll get black holed though. Truly, it’s not so much a cost thing. I’m good for it. It’s just disappointing that they decide to cut women’s health out of the plan. Especially since it helps with more than birth control.
We’re headquartered in CA (although they’re moving it to TX). Although CA has different medical options than the rest of the country (for our company).
It’s definitely more of a policy thing, nationally.
Advice needed. Especially now, with abortion rights under attack.
I have the Mirena. It not only helps protect me from getting pregnant, it helps my horrible periods. Prior to the Mirena, I was anemic. I had to change a super tampon every 45 minutes, sometimes sooner. I’ve had to leave work because I didn’t make it to the bathroom within that 45 minutes, riding the el with a coat tied around my waist. I’ve had cramps so bad that I’d throw up.
Five years ago, when it was inserted, it was free. Thank you Obama and ACA. Now, since Trump stripped away many of the protections, it will cost me $1,200 to replace next year. My company no longer covers it because they did whatever loophole Trump offered.
I don’t often speak out, but I feel like I should say something. What I’d love advice on is who? Our company is 55k. If you were in my position, who would you contact? Or would you even bother? I’m on unfamiliar territory. Like I though about sending something to our CEO, president and cc’ing my business operating executive, who I know. But that seems extreme? But if I send to HR, it will likely go into a black hole.
I have the money in my HSA, so it’s not a problem. It’s more on principle.
We supposedly promote women at our company, but yet pick insurance that increases health cost significantly. Idk. Maybe I also needed to vent.
The refusal is silly! That’s really too bad that they’re being kind of jerks. I’m sorry @Wendy!
I mentioned it, but my dad wanted to go back to normal, meaning his extended family in my parents small, one bathroom house. I told them I wouldn’t come if that’s what they’re doing. Luckily, they’re having just our immediate family and the husband’s parents are making the trek with us too. I’m really lucky in that out of all my sisters, I have really good in-laws that get along great with my family.
A girlfriend of mine sent a poll over the weekend. They were thinking about having their first gathering the weekend before Christmas. Qs were about what you were willing to do to gather. Everyone picked the vaccination option. I don’t think too many of us picked the vaccination + negative test. However, we’ll have all had our boosters and her two kids will be two weeks post 2nd shot. I would have done the negative test though to see my friends. And I would have understood if they wanted that.
The husband I were extremely sick after our JJ. It lasted about 24 hours for me and more like 36 for the husband. I was nauseous, tired and had a headache. The husband had flu-like symptoms.
From everything we’ve read, you should absolutely get Moderna or Pfizer after the JJ. Moderna specifically if you’re considered old.
EDT: I know it’s all anecdotal. My sis had the JJ and has fatigued/headache after her Moderna booster. My close girlfriend had the JJ and was only fatigued after her Pfizer booster.
I’m curious to see how the husband and I will be tomorrow. I’m drinking a TON of water to hopefully help w/ any side effects.
I’ll check ours. The husband ordered from some place that sent us the tests. In Ireland, we were going to have to do a video call with someone in the U.S. to approve our negative tests before coming back. Like, they would have watched us put the swab in our nose and waited with us for the 15 minutes or whatever to see the results then inputted it into a computer so we could come home.
I had to go into the office two days in a row this week. Both for in-person collaboration/strategy meetings. I’ve been going in when necessary for these types of meetings since vaccinations started. It’s SO MUCH BETTER. We get shit done we wouldn’t have on Teams.
Anyway, I like the two days in a row. I left my laptop there last night and walked the three miles home. And I’ll prob walk in this morning too. It’s nicer to walk without a backpack.
We have some at home tests now. We took them to Ireland so we could test and get home. But our driver told us the airport had an approved site for the US. It was like $50 euro and super fast. So now we have all the tests we took.
