Yes to the trial!!!! I actually had my trial on the same day as my bachelorette. It was fun.
I didn’t have a shower, but instead opted for a fun cocktail making class with my close friends at a local watering hole that is known for their drinks. We had a blast!!!
Fyi… KMEN!!!!!… if you don’t do the destination thing… seriously consider a cocktail class at Violet Hour. It couldn’t have been more perfect and our instructor was a lot of fun.
I sport a pixie and I still had my stylist come and do my hair for my super low key wedding. I didn’t have a veil or barrettes or anything either. I also had someone do my makeup. I looked like an elevated version of “me” and I still looked natural. I’m glad I spent some money to do that.
Pretty! I’d change out the belt. Perhaps something velvet or shiny? Bracelet(s) and earrings.
EDT: I’ve worn a dress that falls just below the knees to black tie events and it worked nicely. Since it had a v-neck line, I paired it with a statement necklace and wore pretty, strappy heels because it was always summer when I wore it.
We’re moving to CA! JK. But the husband was just offered a promotion on the west coast. Luckily, he doesn’t want the headache of being more “corporate”. He claimed he had to talk to his wife. They asked is she could relocate and he said well, she works here. Lol. My god, they’d need to double both of our salaries and we still wouldn’t want it.
And @theHizzy… I was the same way, but people want to buy you gifts.
WWS. My nephew loves trucks. LOVES THEM. He runs around all day pushing his trucks around. My sister and BIL definitely didn’t encourage “boy” type play. They’re both equal rights, feminist, etc. They could care less about gender norms. It’s pretty funny to see this kid be a “boys boy.” 100% innate. Nobody in my fam is overtly masculine or even a little bit alpha. This kid is a dude though.
EDT: My cousin’s kids are super interesting. The oldest, a boy, likes typical boy things but is super sensitive. The middle, a girl, likes typical girl things but can throw down. She’s tough as nails. The youngest, a boy, is extremely feminine in speech, mannerisms and the toys he likes. Everyone is actually really surprised the husband does so well with the little one because he is more “macho.” Thank goodness he doesn’t project that onto his son.
