So the lump is definitely a cyst, which I suspected. It just got really big and hard, like I could see it protruding. It went down. Hormone fluctuation I assume. It was right around my period. It’s good to have that confirmed. However, I get to go back for a biopsy because of calcifications that the doc wants to check out. I’m not too worried though. Better safe than sorry. The doc did inform my I’m a “D” on the breast density scale. It goes up to D. And I have a lot of cysts.
The other breast was biopsied in 2015 for a cyst that looked like it had some growth or something in it. That was benign.
I could never be a doctor or nurse or in the medical field. I don’t have the stomach for it. It’s all pretty interesting though.
Yay @golfer.gal. Have so much fun!!! Congratulations.
I just had my breasts compressed and now waiting for an ultrasound. Fun times.
It was time for my annual mammogram, but I also have a pretty big lump. I think it’s the same one that turned out to be a cyst about 7 years ago, but two periods ago, it got bigger and harder. I’m sure hormones. Fun times.
Oh, miss mj, I’m so sorry. Sending you a hug and good thoughts.
I don’t have experience with losing a parent yet so I don’t have any real advice to offer. Take gentle care of yourself and come here if you want to reminisce or vent or let your mind rest, whatever you need to do!
@copa, I remember you mentioning the Tiffany’s thing, otherwise I totally wouldn’t have said that. :). I was always ambivalent about marriage too. I’m not sure why I decided to take the plunge. It felt right. I dunno.
Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is on my to read list. As is the latest Louise Penny. After seeing Tina and Amy last weekend on their Restless Leg Tour, I kind of want to read their books again. The show was so good!! Or maybe listen since they narrate.
I’d be on board with changing the name to reflect how this post has changed. I like how we all catch up here. Dating. Marriage. Kids. Hair, makeup and fashion tips. Travel.
OMG. We can do it!!!
I need to go back and read from the beginning. Veritek started this thread less than a week after my first date with the husband…. there was one dude who would frequently comment that he was sure we wouldn’t work out because we had one argument 6 months in. I was upset that he hadn’t introduced me to his fam when he had met mine. Admittedly, I didn’t speak up sooner and on my birthday, I let it out while a little inebriated. Obvs, we worked through it. And a couple weeks later, I was having dinner at his parent’s house.
@Copa, announce an engagement on the anniversary. JK!! Although I will admit that when I see your name pop up… I wonder 🙂
I know I’m not supposed to ask about babies and weddings and stuff. But there you have it. Faux pas on my part.
Ugh anonymousse. That really stinks. I’m sorry. I think a lot of people leave jobs over bad managers.
I try hard to support my team. I’m taking advantage of some courses my company is offering to people managers. And for the first time in my 20-year career I have a manager I really, really like. I’ve had a couple bad managers and a couple who were just ok. It makes such a difference.
If I ever need help dealing with some work stuff, I’m pretty sure I’d come here and check with you Kate before taking action.
We don’t even own a car!!! We have a garage space. We should rent it out.
The husband did the math after his college car crapped out. It didn’t make sense to buy, even with his Sunday suburban Uber rides to bowl with his dad.
Walk, public transit, rideshare, and he occasionally bikes.
The few times I do go into the office now, I bus there and walk home. It’s lovely.
With the effing highway down to two lanes going south, I’d absolutely avoid a car commute for the next three years. The local roads are now out of control because people are finding alt routes. I’m legit scared for my life every time I walk now. The husband saw an Amazon driver cussing out a slow walker crossing the street. I’ve seen so many people run stop signs on side streets. Cars backed up for blocks on same side streets. Drivers are so angry.
Prior to the road closure, there was barely any traffic in my neighborhood, which is one of the reasons I loved living in West Town. If the Casino actually does go into the old Tribune site, I may have to move. I’m praying the state or new mayor undos it.
With that being said, I’m sorry you didn’t get the offer @copa!
Thanks @Capa! I’ll look her up!!
Ireland wasn’t high on my list either, but we took the husband’s parents for their 60th bdays. His mom is of Irish descent and always wanted to go. It was so beautiful. And I liked seeing all the old stuff.
The library we went into is the Marsh Library. I think it was like a $5 donation or something. It’s pretty small, but it was cool seeing the books that are hundreds of years old. We were there for maybe 30 minutes or so. https://marshlibrary.ie/.
We were only in Dublin for a day. The rest of our time was spent visiting towns on the west coast of Ireland.
Have so much fun!! We were in Ireland almost a couple years ago. There was this fabulous old library near St. Pat’s that was pretty cool to see. I’ll try to find the name. We also went to this super cool museum that ancient writings and drawings. A lot of stuff from Asia and also extremely early bibles. Even if you aren’t religious, it’s pretty cool to see all these old works.
I haven’t been to London.
We’ll be in Italy next month. We’re taking my niece. It’s her high school grad present. We’ll be in Rome, Florence, Sorrento (Pompeii, Capri and Positano), and Bari. Will happily take any suggestions too!!
I’m so sorry you’re going through this bloody mediocrity. I hope you find some peace and heal. That’s a really rough time. I’m glad you’re seeing a therapist and don’t feel guilty. It’s shitty all around.
When I’m not logged in, someone else’s name shows up. As soon as I log in, it’s fine. So, log in.
