Hmm, if I’m having a particularly rough go, the best thing I can do for myself is designate a time period, usually a day or full weekend, and actively not engage with the world or friends/family. During that time period, I’ll eat comfort foods. I’ll do a lot of walking and maybe some window shopping. I’ll also veg out on the couch and watch some guilty pleasures. I’ll stay off soical media. And sometimes not even answer texts or phone calls. By being my myself, I remember why I like me and when this designated hibernation is over, I’m ready to face the world again.
And if I’m tense and have trouble sleeping, one glass of wine helps. Not more though. One glass. A good night sleep should help!
Oh, @ale, don’t forget to ask yourself if you like him!!!!
We do a nice mix of go out and stay in. We try to cook 4 to 5 nights a week. We also have Broadyway in Chicago season tickets, so that helps to get out. And we go to a few sporting events here and there, especially during basketball season… Marquette… and we go to Hockey games.
Since, IDK, August we’ve both traveled A LOT for work so we welcome quiet nights in. Since September, not one week has gone by where at least one of us isn’t on the road. I leave tomorrow/friday. He’s gone Mon/Tues next week. And we’re never gone the same weeks. It’s weird. Literally, every other since early September.
Unfortunately the wait time is typical with church weddings. Most people who have church weddings also want a typical evening reception. Annoying, yes, but there is no way to get around it. Churches don’t cancel Saturday evening masses so people can have later weddings.
