Also, the guy… I don’t like to be too matchy… but I like to be slightly matchy. Ideas on suit and tie colors for him? With the white/red dress?

He wore a gray suit the other day to a presentation and looked really, really good! He also has a black suit and a navy sport coat. And god knows what else.

Ooh, that is a super pointy toe, isn’t it? I like all the straps though.

I think a gray suit would look fantastic next to a red/white dress

    Or khaki.

I think khaki is the one thing he doesn’t have :(. Maybe grey suit, white shirt and multicolored tie with some red in it. He usually wears blue or purple.

Sooo…Veritek starts a thread about dating. People have fun, it’s even noted as an “Epic” dating thread. Then I guess people are upset some seem to be doing the same things, and comments ensue…and then Veritek makes a comment about being tired because of her weekend…and the gloves come off?
I don’t get it. This site is constantly being toted as one where the “community” is so great, and yet poor Veritek is thrown to the lions and trampled by choices for attire? I mean why not start another thread or even, if people are frustrated with Veritek, or others, then not respond to this thread?

Talk about dating then. People are free to do so. “Poor Veritek” was hardly thrown to the lions. A couple people were triggered by her comments but many more jumped to her defense. The thread then veered on a temporary tangent, as epic threads are wont to do. I’m sure when people have dating stories they’ll post about those.

Can I just say that “triggered” is not the right word for what happened in this scenario? Triggering is scenarios or phrases that induce panic attacks/PTSD flashbacks. I think it’s pretty dramatic to claim that some people were “triggered” by the fact that Veritek said she had a busy weekend. Were people annoyed by Veritek? I think so. But to claim that Veritek said anything that could be construed as a trigger topic is stretch.

Ok irritated or annoyed. “Set off.”

ChimingIn the idea of the diversion to clothing attire was to divert any more comments on the topic of Veritek (which is understandable since it got a little out of control). This has happened in the past, one famous rant was with SarahB, which reached over 100 pages of the commenters rambling on about anything but her to divert.

Yep Cleo, that’s what I was doing! Thought I would change the subject, but had no dating stories. And I have no doubt people will post a few fun dating stories in no time. The weekend is coming up after all.

BUT, if we’re only allowed to talk dating… I’m going on 9 and a half months with the guy! The same guy I mentioned at the beginning of this thread. I have no doubt we’ll make it to one year as we just booked a fall trip. And I’ll come back on here at the year mark and say “Yay! We made it a year.”
