For the gun thing, I grew up north of Chicago and that definitely seems weird to me to be pushing guns, but my area was relatively liberal. I didn’t touch or see a gun except at summer camp (riflery).
Austria is awesome! I went to Vienna with my mom and sister a few years ago and we had a great time.
Anyway, Nookie may not be going to Austin, but that’s where I am right now! Right in the middle of Uber and lyft suspending service. I’ll only have one day without a car, but I’m not looking forward to that… But I’ve heard good things about the biking culture?
lucia_laMay 11, 2016 at 2:15 pm #499308It was Don Giovanni – very dramatic! There was some kind of odd artistic decisions but the singing was beautiful.
Today the firefighter did end up meeting me on my long break from work and we went paddle boating on the river (have alwayssss wanted to do that as a date every since seeing 10 Things I Hate About You) and then we soaked up the sun in a park until I had to go back to work (which was hard to get myself to do).
May 11, 2016 at 2:26 pm #499309@lucia_la I love paddle boating dates! My favorite park in this city does paddle boating in the summer and I love going there for picnics and boating.
I have so many summer date plans I want to do with Physicist. I won’t see him again for a couple weeks, because he’s leaving for vacation pretty much as soon as he’s done with his last final, but I’m super excited for all of the things we can do when he’s back (and not totally buried in school. For a little bit)May 11, 2016 at 6:41 pm #499370@lucia_la sounds like you have had some awesome dates so far! You sound like you are in Europe somewhere…May have missed the post on where though.
And Austria would be so nice to visit! My parents went during their honeymoon, but only a stop over, they went to Slovania where my dads extended family is from, and then hopped over to a few countries bordering. From the pictures it looks like a gorgeous place, I am sure you will enjoy yourself!
lucia_laMay 12, 2016 at 2:04 pm #499531Weird, I just tried to post something but I don’t see it. Apologies if this comes up twice now.
@Cleo I’m in Prague, been here about 3.5 years now. That’s the only (potential) problem with the firefighter… he just moved here and isn’t totally sure how long he’s staying.
shakeourtreeMay 13, 2016 at 11:13 am #499659I dropped/am in the process of dropping the quiet guy I’ve been dating. I also very recently met someone I really like. We clicked right away, and we have much more in common than I do with the quiet one. So far, so good. The only hiccup is that he lives 45+ minutes away and in the opposite direction of my commute. He’s going to be out of town this weekend, so I’ll just be hanging out with friends these next few days.
Have fun with your friends @shakeourtree and have fun with the FWB @Kare!
I’m celebrating the end of the political session tonight with friends, working a few hours tomorrow, helping happy hour guy write a wedding ceremony script over beers tomorrow night (he’s an ordained minister and has done a few of his friend’s weddings) and then a 2 year old’s birthday party and a high school graduation party on Sunday so it’ll be a busy but fun weekend!
