I thought I posted about it, but I can’t find it (although at the time I was kind of in haze after doing a blood test).
It was an amazing trip! I got slightly injured a couple of times, but I’m accident prone so eh. I met some good people, had amazing food, and of course the sightseeing was breathtaking. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so I didn’t see the northern lights.
And then I came back to work and found out my sales team complained to my VP that I had that audacity to take vacation twice this year (one of which I was at home and monitoring emails).
Injured on trails? I can believe that, I went on an ‘easy’ mountain trail in Switzerland that was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. Europeans have a slightly hazier concept of safe trails I suspect. I’d love to go over one day to Iceland, you did a group tour right? You didn’t have to drive yourself? If so, how many were in your group?
Oh man, what a bunch of fucknuckles at work, I’m sure you were entitled to your time off. I hope you’re VP was on your side!
I’m working towards finding a new job, my boss did something really shady and blamed me for it. I’m just tired of working for someone like that… So time to move on!
I just had my first normal date in a really long time, I’m excited ^_^ (At least I hope it was a date ?!) I can finally contribute something positive to this thread 😀
We went to have beer in a pub, played pool, then went to another pub with the idea to have food but they had stopped serving food so we just had another beer. He was saying how he has to go in like 10 minutes because he has stuff to prepare for next day. Instead, when we left the pub, he said he will walk with me in my direction to explore the city.. (he’s new to the city and he lives less than 5 mins away from the place, I live 20 mins away in opposite direction). So we ended up having a very very late and very unhealthy treat at an ice cream shop just round the corner from where I live. So he ended up walking me home and coming home like 1.5 hours later than he intended (this is a good sign yes?)
Apart from the fact it was our first time going out, it wasn’t too different to when two friends go out to hang out. I mean nothing really happened physically at all which worries me a bit.
We’re both going to a social event tomorrow so I’ll see him then too. I guess I just have to wait to see if he suggests we go out again.I think I’m being ghosted by the guy I’ve been dating since July. It’s still pretty casual (he’s a consultant and travels a lot for work so scheduling can be an issue), but we text or talk by phone daily even when he’s away so I feel sad about it. I know a few people in this thread have said they expect to be ghosted nowadays, but I hate this feeling and don’t think I will ever get used to this as the norm.
kare, that’s ridiculous about your co-workers. People should definitely use their vacation time.
Eve, just take things one date at a time. Don’t over analyze or rush anything. Let it happen. Also, don’t worry about if he likes you. Figure out if you like him.
In other news, I GOT ENGAGED SATURDAY!!!! This dating thread started shortly after my first date with this dude. And now we’re engaged! Thank you everyone for taking the time to read and respond in the beginning stages. It has been much appreciated. I’m so happy. I kind of want to run off and elope and not have to worry about all the wedding crap. I’m pretty sure MG would support that.
PortiaOctober 24, 2016 at 9:14 am #654611So exciting, Eve! That sounds promising, but the saying “I have to go in 10” then not is weird. I’m not sure what to make of that, it could mean a lot of different things.
That sucks, Copa. I agree, I don’t think I could ever get used to ghosting in dating.
And Congrats ktfran!!!! That’s so exciting. But oh do I hear you on wedding crap (having myself celebrated a one-year anniversary recently where I did the wedding thing). I’ve seen so many beautiful elopements to New Zealand recently (mostly Facebook acquaintances) and I must admit I’ve been a bit jealous.
MissDreOctober 24, 2016 at 9:29 am #654623Has anybody here ever had their profile written by a professional or a dating coach? I’m exhausted and sick of dating right now. But I was thinking… once I’ve taken a break and recharged, I might try starting over fresh in the New Year with a new profile. I love Evan Marc Katz and I know he offers different plans for re-writing profiles. But not sure yet if that’s something I’d want to pay for. Anybody here with experience?
