In other news, I am SO antsy to book my flight to Europe but my dude hasn’t confirmed dates yet. I don’t want to bug him, because he’s only been there 6 days, he’s still staying in an airbnb, is waiting to find out when he can move into the apartment he chose, doesn’t know when he’ll get his first paycheque, and generally has a lot to do to get settled. We were hoping to visit over Easter, since it’s a long weekend for both of us. Hopefully he’ll have a better idea of what April looks like by the weekend.
Lots to think about, thanks for the discussion! In the future I agree about the thanks part. In the past guys have been the first to text me so I never worried about it (I haven’t dated a lot so not a humble brag). Anyway in this case we had an afternoon date and then I messaged him on Bumble at night thanking him for coffee and then asked if he would like to get together next weekend for a free concert at an art gallery (we talked about classical music). Then I told him if he was interested to send me a text and I gave him my number (we hadn’t exchanged numbers).
So I was a bit more active in asking him out again but I also wanted to go to this concert. My hitch now is we said we’d do lunch before but we didn’t confirm place, since there are a bunch of restaurants in that area, and confirmation on time, which is my bad. I just didn’t want to plan so much in advance (… 6 days).
So I am really hoping on Thursday or Friday he will text and we will confirm that. Otherwise I will since I’m Type A like that, which is fine, but not a great indicator?
I’m excited about the date part though! Yay free music.
That’s so exciting Miss Dre! Easter seems like a perfect weekend. I think you’re doing the right thing letting him settle in first
MissDreMarch 22, 2017 at 11:57 am #679017@hfantods thanks! It’s just tough for me cuz I’m a type A planner. I’d plan my life 5 years in advance if I could lol. Also, I do need to request my time off ahead of time and easter is getting closer and closer… I will ask him on Sunday I think. That gives him 5 more days (including today) to get a few more things in order.
March 22, 2017 at 12:40 pm #679026hah yeah I just booked round trip tickets to Croatia over memorial day weekend. 800 bucks each including taxes. Italy was SUPER cheap too. They had a bunch of supersaver United awards too. I just looked at flights to houston even, and you can get there and back for 175
MG, Croatia was on our shortlist for our honeymoon. You’ll have to let me know how it is!
I think we’ve settled on Portugal/the Azores. The fiance found tickets for around $750. That includes a flight to Lisbon. Then Lisbon to the Azores. Then the Azores back home. Not bad!
MissDreMarch 22, 2017 at 1:02 pm #679035I think flights in Canada are more expensive just because our population is only a 10th of the USA.
Anyway, I CAN get a flight to his city for around $900 CDN…. except that’s if I want 2 or 3 layovers and a 22-hour trip. If I want the flight with 1 layover that will get me there in 9 hours, it’s starting at around $1,300 CDN. But I’ve noticed that it’s cheaper if you book WAY in advance.
Anyway, I’m still super excited because it’s my first ever trip out of North America. That plus I miss him 🙂
@ktfran thanks for the well wishes!! -
