KTRAN I will let you know! we are really excited. also.. lisbon is great and cheap and seafood is awesome
Woohoo, MissDre! Hate the stress of booking plane flights. Do you browse in private viewing/incognito mode? How is Air Transat looking?
Guy texted me this evening asking me how my week went! Yes, it’s just a short text. But is it also nice to know that I’m on his mind? Yep! Unfortunately my texting skills are kind of horrendous and I know I take too long to respond. Also my phone ran out of battery and I didn’t have my charger with me.
((Sorry, thanks DWers for bearing with me through all these tiny details. I try to be less neurotic around my IRL friends.))
March 23, 2017 at 9:26 am #679196@MissDre, I signed up for email alerts from Air Canada and recently have been seeing loads of deals. Usually they are for certain days of the week within a certain few months. But maybe see if you can get those emails and something might pop up? The deals last for about 24 hours. So it is a bit tight but you never know!
Yay @missdre! That sounds awesome! Unrelated, and I don’t know that they’d fly to Europe, but I fly Porter when I visit my friend in Toronto and I’ve never loved an airline so much. Free wine! Free cookies!
@Hfantods YAY! That’s good! I hope you guys have a great time on your second date!I’ve been texting just a tiny bit with the guy I’ve been out with while he’s on vacation but other than that nothing interesting going on my way as far as dating goes.
My last day at my sorta-toxic job is tomorrow and I’m so exhausted — I’ve been working a lot the past few weeks to try to wrap up as much as I can, because I truly like and care about most of my coworkers and want the transition to go well for them. But I’m so incredibly relieved and excited to be done here. I went to happy hour with some co-workers last night and learned what I suspected: Almost everyone is trying to get out of this place ASAP. I wrote an honest and balanced Glassdoor review of my company, it was approved by Glassdoor and posted online, and within a few days mysteriously disappeared — I strongly suspect HR (or a higher up) saw it and flagged it as inappropriate, and had it taken down. (There are some very fake reviews of my company on the site, and looks like someone also patrols for less-than-flattering reviews and flags them for removal. Wow.)
I’m so behind!
@ktfran your honeymoon ideas sound so fun!MissDre I’m insanely jealous of your Italian wedding date! Please have so much fun and drink a glass of wine or eat something deliciously Italian for me!
@Copa congrats on the new job and moving on from that environment! I was also working in a toxic environment for five months after my brief funemployment (I even consulted an attorney at one point over some things that happened) and 3 weeks into my new job I’m so much happier!
As for dating, it’s like old home week around here. After new guy moved away we still talk and he tells me about his adventures in his new town, but there’s pretty much no chance he’ll get a job near me any time soon so we’re moving on. In the last two weeks I’ve had dudes from the past pop up out of nowhere.
Ex boyfriend of 10 months from 2014 sends me a text congratulating me on my new job. I thought we weren’t friends on any social media but apparently we are still connected on Linked in. So we had a nice chat and it was kind of him to send a message, but we don’t really hang anymore and I haven’t seen him in forever.Veterinarian I went on three dates with last summer before he disappeared starts texting me out of nowhere apologizing for ghosting me and disappearing, saying how busy he is, asking what I’ve been up to, blah blah blah. He’s bored. I’ll chat with him but he’s off the dating table if he’s so busy he can go from July to March without contacting me.
One night stand guy (turned into 2 nights actually) from last January matched with me on bumble (I swiped right just to see if he had swiped too). I asked what he wanted and I got this whole long story about being out of the country for a year (he’s military). Long story short he asked me out again, and I haven’t responded. He’s good for fun but has zero relationship potential.
Lastly, the guy I just started talking to that grew up with my friend from college asked me out for Saturday night and I found an old message from him on Facebook from 2010. I guess he tried to contact me because he was trying to make new friends in the area when he moved up here back then because our mutual friend suggested me and I never saw the message until I was going through and archiving old messages. I sent him a screenshot of the Facebook message and he said I should have replied 7 years ago and we could have met up sooner! So I’m looking forward to having drinks with him Saturday night!
