I think the last time I went out with a guy who wasn’t from the depths of the Internet was like a year and a half ago. So, it’s been awhile since I met someone IRL and it’s almost like I forgot how it works. I love having a silly crush, but because I see him on a regular basis, I feel more cautious about how I approach things. Anyway, I’m sure in the next few weeks I’ll have a clearer sense of where his interest level is at.
Yay Cleopatra! That’s fun news!
@Copa – this guy sounds fun. I think keep hanging out!
@MG – yes, do love the job – just adjusting to the new hours and stress level that comes along with the pay. The two weeks I was in California and the week before I averaged about 60-70 hours. It was sort of exhausting. The weekend I spent exploring Cali made up for it. It was just crazy to land back home and have multiple emails and texts from the boss waiting for me – and she knew I was flying lol. I’ll adjust eventually!
Anyone have fun V-day plans? I’m getting a haircut and splitting a bottle of wine with my hair dresser. Manfriend of Veritek and I are meeting up this weekend to go winery hopping and spend the night at a BnB. He said something sweet this past weekend (when I also met several of his friends). He said, “I suck at romantic gestures, and I want to do something nice for you for Valentines day, so just know that I’m trying to think of something awesome.”
In this case, it really is the thought that counts because I told him if he spends too much on flowers just for Valentine’s day, that’s a waste of money and we should just go get a yummy dinner together instead. Hope you’re all having a good week!
February 14, 2018 at 8:44 am #739248Nothing too crazy for V-Day. I spent a ‘romantic’ weekend with my BF, as we had both been travelling for a couple weeks, so wanted to spend extra time together. We made homemade pizzas and brownies (our cheat day), watched a movie and then did a workout the next morning with a good breakfast. I will probably be seeing him today before I do a late yoga class. We both signed up for a month trial, I thought he had done yoga before, so after our first class (hot vinyasa), he was dripping sweat and proclaimed he had no idea what he was doing lol Well at least he looked like he knew what he was doing 😛
Maybe I should get some good wine soon…
Calling him manfriend @veritek, is that in lieu of not having the BF/GF label yet?
TheHizzyFebruary 14, 2018 at 9:49 am #739265This is the first V-day that I’ve had with FMH that he’s here and we aren’t at a distance. He just told me he’s going to make one of our favorite foods. I’ve never had his version, just our friends. Cross my fingers.
On a wedding note. I’ve put a deposit on the venue. So, we have our location, food, alcohol, photos and music! We have 16 months to plan but costs are kind of finally set and we are under budget still so far. We’re hosting a lot of people in April to do an official “hey guys it’s one of these 5 dresses….thoughts?”
@cleo – I call him my manfriend and he calls me his girlfriend. I’m 33, the word boyfriend just feels weird as an adult. It’s my own personal weirdness, but we are a couple and he refers to me as his girlfriend to friends and family.
Also, I’ve done hot yoga twice and cursed the entire time so kudos to him for surviving with a smile.
@thehizzy – congrats on getting so much wedding stuff done.I’m going to the gym tonight. And then spending the night with my favorite guy: My dog. 😛
@veritek33 Have you guys said “I love you” yet? It’s nice that he wants to do something sweet for you. I actually like smaller gestures more than grand ones. They seem more genuine to me. Honestly, my favorite Valentine’s Day gesture ever was getting those Hershey’s hugs and kisses from a boyfriend with a cute note about how he wished he could be there with me in person to give me hugs and kisses. Hope you guys have a great, fun weekend!
@Cleopatra_30 You just had what’s basically my dream date, hahaha. I love making homemade pizzas. And brownies.February 14, 2018 at 11:33 am #739295Nothing going on here for Valentines either. We don’t really celebrate it all that much (occasionally we’ll do something but it’s not a regular thing). I do miss when my kids were little and they did those valentine cards and candy in school. I always thought it was really cute.
My nephew (he’s 14) wanted to get to school early (he hates school) to give a girl he likes a valentine card. I thought that was so sweet.
TheHizzyFebruary 14, 2018 at 12:24 pm #739311@Kate I thought I had found a dress I liked but I found a couple more that I liked just as much. So I have it narrowed down to 5 different dresses. I wanted to share that moment with my mom and SIL who are coming down in April as a bonding and fun moment. I’ll be picking just ONE dress. I’m not having !!5!! dresses.
