I really like the both, but I LOVE the first one!
One of my redheaded friends wears certain pinks and reds… don’t discount those colors too!
And ver, totally don’t feel like you have to buy (or rent) a new dress. You’ll be inside for most of the event so I’m sure the black would be fine. Heck, if there is time in between, you can wear a sundress to the church wedding and slip into the black dress for the evening. Totally ok to do!
Both are great, but I like the one shoulder dress more. (The shoulder-bearing style doesn’t tend to look great on me so I tend to shy away from that style period, but obviously you know what flatters you!) And before I read your comment about the colors you stick to, I was thinking green would look nice on you. Cuz I’m creepy like that.
If anyone has any dresses they’ve seen around for decent prices, feel free to share links! I’m going to a wedding in San Francisco in about a month, and don’t know what to wear. I feel like all I have are LBDs and dresses that are no longer my style. I’ll be gone just long enough that I strongly prefer not to do RTR.
And on the subject of dresses, I bought this dress to wear on weekends in two different colors and I’m obsessed and want it in every color. It’s flattering, it’s comfortable: https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/leith-ruched-body-con-tank-dress/3741346?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FClothing%2FDresses&color=purple%20petal
I wasn’t objecting to black! I would probably think twice about a black, long sleeve dress in June in St. Louis, which is humid AF. If it were black and short sleeve or sleeveless, my answer would have been a lot easier… wear it!
I wear my black, sleeveless lace dress ALL THE TIME to events and switch up the shoes depending on season. In the winter, I usually add a wrap. I’ve also brought a black blazer.
I have it in black and grey, and literally don’t want to wear anything else! I allllmost wore it to work this morning with a cardigan, butttt I have a big ol’ squat booty, and while I LOVE how my butt looks in this dress, I second-guessed it as a work dress and changed. I was so excited when I saw they have a ton of new colors (there were only, like, four when I got mine). I seriously might get one or two more, which seems excessive, but I can’t get over how comfortable it is.
