I’m currently dating two guys of drastically different heights. One is NBA-player kind of tall, and the other’s a little short. He’s maybe an inch or two taller than me. I can barely reach the other guy to hug him even while wearing massive heels. I don’t really have a height preference, so we’ll see who wins out, but I think the shorty’s about to take the lead.
JDJune 26, 2018 at 3:19 pm #758845When I was younger I was 5’1” (grew a bit in my early 20s) and dated a guy who was 6’8”. I always joke that I never saw him.
I don’t care about height, within reason. I did go on a blind date with a guy who was 4’9” and I was in 6” heels so 5’10” in them. It was just a bit much for me. Plus I’m always in 6” heels. As long as he can pick me up and carry me to bed, thats all I need. Don’t get too excited, I fall asleep in the couch a lot.
So I cooked for my alpha geek yesterday. He’s been working on a huge project and has been surviving on takeout, but made time to spend with me when he should have been sleeping. I brought dinner with me. I had no idea what to cook because he gave me no hints other than: won’t eat anything with antennas. So decided to go with the classics. Grilled tri tip, mashed potatoes, garlic parmesan roasted green beans. Oh, and chocolate baby bundt cakes for desert because I love that pan. He seemed to like it, and the date went well.
For me cooking for someone is a big deal. I guess it is for him too because we had the “dont want to see other people” convo. His was more: “This is where I’m at, but I’m ok if you are not there, especially since I’ll be traveling for work for the next month”. The truth is, I havent been interested in seeing anyone else since our 2nd or 3rd date, so I just…haven’t. It’s just official now.
Lucia_laJuly 4, 2018 at 9:44 am #759953You guys, Banjo and I rescued the most adorable kitten on our vacation in Greece! There was a freak thunderstorm and we found the little guy abandoned, hungry, cold, wet and crying so loudly for help. We checked on him a few times to make sure there was no mom cat coming back (she never showed up, and we never saw any other kittens from the litter) and we called all the shelters on the island but they were all full. So we found a vet and they told us he wouldn’t make it unless we took him. So we got him a pet passport and some meds and he is now our fur baby! He’s about six weeks old so luckily he can eat on his own without bottle feeding. He is the cutest, sweetest, snuggliest little guy and seems very very happy with his new home!
I’ve always known that Banjo is a very considerate, kind, gentle man but I’m seeing it times a hundred as he takes care of his little kitten son. He’s done an incredible amount of research on the best ways to raise kittens, bought him tons of toys, runs home on his lunch break just to check on him. It’s really so sweet. A family member adopted a kitten once and it died, so we are being extra extra careful with this little dude. So far so good! He’s already gained weight and his coat is so much softer!
July 5, 2018 at 6:44 am #760025@Lucia_la my friend and I always joke about the memes and videos where cats just literally ‘find’ people and become their cat. I am jealous of your scenario!
@MissD Congrats!! That is so exciting! How are you managing the move out there from across the pond?? Are you shipping loads of stuff or will you need to do a huge overhaul of your possessions and bring bare minimum?I’m not shipping anything… I looked into it but it’s WAY too expensive. Just bringing two suitcases of clothes / personal items plus my cats.
I’m currently starting on all of the paperwork to bring my kitties with me. Really nervous because I found out that the UK requires all animals to enter the country as air cargo, so my girls have to travel in the baggage compartment. I know tons of animals travel this way every year but it’s still scary.
July 5, 2018 at 8:07 am #760034Congrats, MissD — I’m so happy and excited for you!!
