Wendy, I have you and BGM to thank in part 🙂 You both told me to go for it and get to know this guy, even though I knew he was moving away.
I’m nervous to move overseas, but really excited to close the distance and take on this new adventure with my partner!

@lucia – That is the sweetest story that just made my day. I love happy endings with animals. On that note, we have a cat that got outside and essentially ran away on Saturday. And somehow he found his way back home Wednesday evening – he woke us up by meowing so loudly I thought it was someones alarm clock at first. He’s been much nicer since he got back. (He’s always been kind of a terd) I think he appreciates having a home more now than before.Lucia _laJuly 5, 2018 at 11:58 am #760055We’re calling the kitten Ollie because the island we were on was full of olive trees! We debated about a bunch of different Greek-inspired names but it seemed silly to name a tiny kitten Zeus or something like that, haha. He was just about one pound when we found him and now he’s almost one and a half pounds after just one week so we think he might be a big guy! For the person who asked about getting him home, we live in Central Europe so we just had to get him a pet passport and take him on a two-hour flight. Smartwings was supposed to charge us 60 Euro but they either forgot or “forgot” – the woman checking us in was an animal lover who told us she volunteers with stray dogs so we’re not sure.
Congrats @MissD! I’ve been living abroad for over five years and I love it. I know plenty of people who moved over here with their cats and dogs and didn’t have a problem. Good luck!!
Lucia _laJuly 5, 2018 at 12:02 pm #760056@K he looks like a tabby. Banjo did some research and it seems most of the cats on the Greek islands are Aegean cats, so he’s probably that and we found some pics of the breed that look like him. Aegeans are supposed to be very friendly and comfortable with humans too. He’s incredibly sweet and snuggles with us for hours every day. I hope he still does it when he’s older because it’s so precious.
