-55 with windchill tomorrow. Cause -30 tonight wasn’t going to be enough. I thought I lived in the Midwest not the Alps!

In lieu of Whole30, just do what I did and get extremely sick where you don’t eat for three days. I call it the Whole30/10. You lose weight. Your taste buds wane. The thought of food disgusts you. I kid, I kid!

However, I’m so excited. I’m working on my first apple as I type.

    I like the picture @thehizzy!

Hizzy, you and FMH are adorbs.

Also, it’s a tropical 15 degrees here today. The 3/4 mile walk from my parking spot to my office downtown was invigorating this morning.

@TheHizzy I start the food introduction phase on Friday, so should know more about which foods irritate me soon. I will say, though, that my digestion is still not on track with Whole30, and I’m frustrated by that. I had my gallbladder removed almost 10 years ago, and have had IBS-like symptoms on and off since. Whole30 hasn’t helped at all. I do eat more fat when I eat this way, and I wonder if I can’t handle a higher fat diet if I’m eating fewer starches. I’m trying to increase my starchy veggie intake. I head to South Africa in just over three weeks, where I’m sure I’ll eat whatever I want, but I think I’m going to go continue exploring which foods do and don’t work for me when I get back.

@thehizzy, this is the second time I’m trying Whole30 as the first time I failed. I failed because I kept having flare up of my Crohns symptoms which for me is very similar to IBS. Because of Crohns (specifically for me not necessarily everyone who has it – I went undiagnosed for years which caused scar tissue) I have to watch fiber intake and raw veggies/fruit can seriously upset my stomach. I can handle them in small doses and now that it is under more control I can handle a bit more and even salad as a meal as long as it has protein. And I eat a lot of potatoes for starch still. Though I’m not lactose intolerant to much diary can also upset my stomach. A little cheese on top of spaghetti fine, pizza not so much.

My main goal was to get off the sugar train and not eat out as much nor eat as much processed foods. Mainly retraining my habits (I love lattes). Taste buds regenerate every 7-10 days so hopefully that will help with the sugar. I think the hardest will be creating new healthy habits.

oh and @copa – I’m sorry whole30 isn’t helping with your symptoms. Too much fat (even healthy fats) does the same thing for me! I feel your pain.

Yeah, it’s frustrating! I’m mostly fine and thought it would clear up on Whole30 since many people seem to struggle with GI issues the first couple weeks. It hasn’t. I bought a date and walnut cake at Whole Foods for me and BG to have as dessert the other night and that did not sit well with me at all. I’ve been reading online about enzymes I can take. I’m hoping between that and upping my starchy veggie intake, things will sort themselves out.

We are all locked up in the house! Currently -48 with windchill outside. Obviously pretty much the whole state is closed down. I am planning on doing a loaded bakes potato soup today for the kids (husband and kid). On a positive note my Trunk Club box comes today which is super fun because I didn’t expect a package with the weather today but it is on track to show up! Can’t wait for that little surprise to keep me busy today. Fingers crossed husbands flight pans out tomorrow.

No dates of interest here. Though I did spend several hours the other night repeatedly tying up two women with duct tape and rope.
    .
    Relax. I was on set.
    .
These women in peril movies are hilarious. (Not misogeny either as the dastardly character who tied up these women was a villianess.) .
At rate, tying up actresses is always pretty damn challenging. One will be claustrophobic so you have to cleverly concoct a way of tying them up really loose in a way that looks tight. Whereas the other will WANT in tight so ss thry struggle to free themselves it can better help their method performance.
    .
    Both are equally challenging.

It was -23 this morning when I took the dogs out, with a windchill of -54. Honestly? It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I wear my winter boots, gloves, and hat, then pop the hood up on my coat, and wrap a giant blanket scarf around the outside of the hood so that everything but my eyes is covered. I took my dog and our boarder dog out separately so they wouldn’t distract each other, and both went quickly. Granted, I was only outside for like 5 or so minutes at a time, but if you keep your face covered, it’s really not as terrible as I thought it would be.

I’m debating going shopping today. I have a few items to buy for South Africa and would probably have Nordstrom to myself today. If I time my walks to the bus correctly, I don’t think it’ll be awful to wait for public transit.

Stay warm everyone! Though it’s sunny here with a high of 48 – downright warm compared to some of you guys!

That sounds interesting @BGM! Sounds like a fun job with something different everyday. My job is…mostly the same everyday so a little boring (or a lot depending on the day 🙂

Now mentally debating if I would freak out or want it tighter when being tied up. Hmm….
