Dude, if MoV’s sister is this… demanding/high strung (I’m searching for the right word), I can only imagine how she’ll be when she’s actually planning the wedding and you have bridesmaid duties. 😛

I once dated a guy who was very very into Disney. I had no idea there were people like him out there. His whole house was decorated in Disney stuff. Tasteful, but still, all Disney themed. He even contributed to some podcast about Disney. And I found out later that he had a fiance, whom he had split with only a few months prior to my meeting him, and they were all set to get married at Disneyland. Apparently it is totally a thing. I had no idea. (Bullet dodged there I think!)

Do people who get married at Disney get married IN the park itself (like outside of Cinderella’s castle? Or is it just *near* Disney, or at one of the nearby hotels? I’m truly baffled by what a Disney wedding even looks like.

Can I just say how glad I am that everyone is in agreement that this sounds terrible? The amount of sunscreen alone that I’m going to have to pack for this…

Alright let’s see if this pic works. I suck at this type of thing. Just me being as awesome as possible on a Disney trip.

Also, since I suck at this and Photobucket is loading like crap, if this links to my whole album or something, which I think it shouldn’t, let me know and I’ll take it down. No idea what is in there as I haven’t used it for years.

@veritek33 I’m already panicked about how to pack enough sunscreen for South Africa. LOL. (As if I can’t buy it there? I just wanna be prepared!)

You both are so cute! I always liked Mickey ears but never got any. I went to Disneyland twice as a kid and once as a teen, and then once in college. It’s been a loooong time…

Ugh, @ver, do they really expect you to put your life on hold for a year plus? Or is it just the engagement? I say eff them.

I will say… the first time I got engaged, my fiance’s older sister got engaged shortly after and I was nothing but thrilled for them! People who aren’t are assholes.

I’m ok with Disney. I have fun the few times I’ve gone. But a wedding. In May. Gross.

So, I am on a weddit forum on reddit and so many people do the Disney engagement/wedding thing. I really don’t get it. Alfred Angelo had Disney dresses for the longest time and people would go bonkers. And when we looked at rings some place had “The Disney Collection” of rings. No, thanks.

On close engagements – We got engaged over Thanksgiving in 2017 when we were on a trip. His whole family, my whole family, and everyone knew it was coming. FMH’s sister suddenly got engaged a week later. She had just told me a few weeks before our trip how they were no where close. Whatever, everyone is happy either way.

We talked to the families to see schedule conflicts, then we set our date and made plans. His son’s fiancee told me after we talked to EVERYONE “But we picked that date but didn’t tell anyone. I guess we’ll move it to April.” Then his sister set her date for April also.

I could care less about all of this except the close weddings would mean a lot of the family members would have to pick one or potentially none. All 3 were in different parts of the US. One being in the west, one being in the southwest and one being in the Midwest. It was supposed to go April 20 wedding #1, April 26 Wedding #2 and then June for ours (wedding #3).

Just a mess. Such a mess.

All weddings have been pushed but one. Ours. So it worked out. I just was stressed because it was just so much for the family. It was like we got engaged and then everyone decided to get engaged too and even though we planned with everyone our date, no one else did the same. But hey….my April is suddenly open and my budget is happier!
