@Helen – we have had very decisive leaders in the United States. Some were very decisive that they were not going to do anything and take no responsibility for the outcomes.

Very true Lisforleslie. I can’t believe the damage Trump has done to this country. I’m on pins & needles till this election is called.

Good news everyone! The White House science office says Trump has ended the pandemic……

    Please feel free to vomit.

I’m very concerned about what the Supreme Court could do to throw the election to Trump now that they have Amy Looney Batshit and a 6-3 majority, and the shit Brett Kavanaugh is saying.

People need to drop off or mail ballots TODAY if they haven’t already. Anything arriving after Election Day will likely be tossed out. On Election night, there needs to be no doubt Trump lost, or SCOTUS is going to say that any ballots counted after that would be an attempt to “flip” the result and they’ll get thrown out.

I’m going to try and get early in person voting done this weekend.

I took my mail-in ballot to a drop-off box yesterday. The line for early voting was LONGGGGGGGGGG. We went around 2:00.

ETA: I was happy to see that the voting line was long. Encouraging!!

Yeah, I think people get the message about not waiting too close to the election to mail in ballots, but if you know anyone who might procrastinate or think as long as it’s postmarked by Election Day it’s fine, let them know it probably won’t be. Brett Kavanaugh’s fuckery is terrifying.

I agree about the vote. Vote now! Vote early!

I had to stop reading some of the news since the fucking barrett vote. It was too depressing and I could feel myself slowly losing it. I know burying my head in the sand won’t change it, but I have to step away for now and take a breath before moving forward.

Today was the last day for early voting for me. My ballot still hasn’t come. It looks like I’ll be voting in person.

@Helen yeah it was very tough from what I heard, though it wasn’t like everyone was confined to their rooms you could go out for necessities and a bit of exercise.

We’re still being very strict about inter-state travel, Queensland and Western Australia still have closed borders and nobody has been able to go to Victoria while this has all been going on. South Australia has let people in but they’ve had to do a 2 week hotel quarantine, I think at their own expense. It’s been decisive but there’s been minimal pushback. A lot of the unrest and shit talking has come from Americans online who can’t believe we’re just giving up our FREEDUMB so easily. Most of us have been like ‘we also like the freedom to live, mate’. We’ve still had sporting events, bars and pubs open for the most part… yes it’s not been the same but we also don’t have to wear masks or curtail most of our social activities. No dancing still though lol.

@anonymousse if you have previously requested a ballot you can still go to a a satellite office in advance of election day and get a mail ballot on the spot to fill out. It will be in person but you won’t have to go on election day.
