Wow, what an IDIOT. Who uses some random comb they find on a DECK SHELF next to dog supplies to groom themselves? You are not responsible for her stupidity. Rescind the offer and let her try and sue you. And yes, absolutely keep that comb safe just in case—and take a picture of where this fool found it.
It goes without saying that she is never welcome at your home again. And hubby had better back you 100-percent, because that is utterly ridiculous.
April 9, 2018 at 2:20 pm #749624Thanks for the feedback. I talked to my husband to see if he was willing to loose his friend over the cost, and he was adamant that we would cover a hair cut at no more than $50 and nothing else. He is going to text his friend and let him know the option and see if she was just mad and threatening to sue us or if they are serious.
JD – I got the comb from a craft fair last year the closest one I found online is this https://www.ebay.com/i/332541951287?chn=ps&dispItem=1 but instead of the second comb on the bottom it is flat with a dog sticker on each side.JDApril 9, 2018 at 2:33 pm #749627Just thought of this time at the beauty supply this girl was just trying out brushes. I literally nearly gagged. Why would anyone use anyone else’s comb or brush. My husband even hates when I use his, although that’s more of a never taking the hair out issue. I would literally never use a brush that wasn’t mine or perhaps someone I was related to. So so weird.
Ruby TuesdayApril 9, 2018 at 3:03 pm #749635If the woman is threatening to sue you, I would cease contact with her and her husband. You do not want to say anything, especially in writing, that could be used against you in court.
Based on the facts here, you are not liable for the damage to her hair. She found the comb on her own, the comb was clearly identified as a dog comb, and she chose to use that comb in her hair. You are not responsible for her behavior, so why should you pay for her damage?
JDApril 9, 2018 at 3:20 pm #749640Ya do not offer to pay for anything. SHE did this. You did not like offer her the brush. It isn’t like she hurt herself on your property. I truly would never have even engaged in the conversation or apologized. I would have said “wow funny someone would use a brush they just found”. Do not give her a red cent nor the time of day to speak to her or her husband.
