Joining the chorus as a middle of the pack millennial (despite the user name- been reading DW for a long time). It sounds like you and your partner are due for some early/mid career shifts- possibly outside of your industry. Having worked for a major consumer packaged goods player for number of years- I can say that over half of our sales and marketing teams from entry level through many of our senior managers and executives have totally unrelated previous career and degree experience. We often seen that people we hire in their late 20’s/early 30’s who are doing a career pivot- significantly outperform the new grads and early 20’s folks and advance quicker (largely from being the more mature person in the room). Even though it may seem like a step back to look at those types of roles- I would suggest it as something worth considering.
Another alternative path would be exploring a career in the trades- it may not be glamorous, but there are tons of grants and apprenticeship programs for people looking to pivot, and given the shortage of tradespeople- there’s relative job security if you choose your trade correctly.
Just a couple outside options to consider, if you’re not committed to staying in your industry- there’s lots of other options out there- you’re not totally pigeon holed.

Who are you mad at? Your high school college counselor? Your parents? Yourself?
Therapy would be good to redirect the anger into something useful, like action.
