Updates: “Pregnancy Hopeful” Responds (Again)

updatesIt’s time again for “Dear Wendy Updates,” a feature where people I’ve given advice to in the past let us know whether they followed the advice and how they’re doing now. Today we hear from “Pregnancy Hopeful,” a woman who was wondering the best way to tell her infertile sister that she was planning to get pregnant soon. She updated once before after she suffered a miscarriage and a couple weeks before her sister, who had begun IVF treatments, was to have her first embryo transfer. It’s been just over three years since we heard from her. Below, find out whether she and her sister have become mothers in that time.

Here’s a short but very happy update for you and your readers: I now have two kids! And my sister has one also! I quickly got pregnant again after my last update, leading to my now two-year-old little girl. During that time, my sister struggled through multiple failed IVF rounds, but finally she succeeded in becoming pregnant, and then she delivered her daughter almost nine weeks early. They spent many scary weeks in NICU, but now my sister has a one-year-old who is trying to walk and talk! I also have a six-month-old little boy. I couldn’t be happier to have all three of these kids in the family now. Thanks for your advice and that of your readers along the way!

That’s wonderful news! So happy for you and your sister and your families! Thank you for sharing your happy update, and best wishes to you all.
