That’s exciting, bm! I’m sure it’s a lot but sounds like you’re doing the right things. Can’t wait to hear about awesome dates.
Thank you PTL! I also have good news —- I accepted a job offer for that job I interviewed for in July! Looking back with my therapist, I have been talking about making the move to this area since I started with her four years ago. So it’s really happening. It was emotional giving my notice after so long. Everyone has said that this move makes sense for me.
Good luck with your job search PTL. I feel like this is a good career change year for DWers 😊
That’s so exciting, copa! Sending good vibes.
I’ve been asked for a second interview this week. I’m still nervous but it does feel good to get a second interview. I’m also getting emotional about potentially leaving my current job as I’ve been here for so long. Right now I know I need to focus on the next step. Obviously there’s still more to go.
Double post. They asked for employment references including one manager in the last three years but I have worked at the same place and reported to the same person for the last nine years. I do have a couple references from before. Any advice on references/how you’d handle this?
Did they know you had an initial interview? I think they’d want to get started on the next interviews if you are doing a second interview with Company 2. However probably once you hear from Company 2 after the in person interview, Company 1 should be reaching out. So waiting would be fine.
I found out got an interview for a job I applied to about 4 weeks ago. At one point this was my “dream job”. I think I need some interview prep because my last few interviews (work and volunteer) haven’t planned out.
Nola was hot but if you just accept you’ll be sweaty it was ok haha. Not sure if anyone is going in the near future but Emeril’s was such an amazing experience. Definitely a splurge but the food and service was took notch. We visited the kitchen briefly and it was just like The Bear. They gave a nice card for our anniversary. They also gave us iced coffee and crumb cake to go!
Didn’t even know longline vests were a thing. I don’t love my arms and the buttons seem like they’d annoy me. But it’s good to have other summer options for work.
Yeah I don’t think I will do capris either. I think crew socks can be cute but I don’t need to cut my legs off anymore. I like the linen pants.
Oh, lots to catch up on! Hope you all have excellent travels to Japan! My friend also just booked her trip to Tokyo.
Hope the job process is going well @copa! I had a couple interviews. I don’t think it panned out but not sure I wanted it. I applied for a job I thought I had a chance for and was interested in and didn’t hear back so it’s a bit disappointing. I’ll just continue on where I am.
We just came back from New Orleans. Had an amazing time! Mm beignets.
How are we feeling about crew socks? Apparently ankle socks are for millennials. I remember reading that crew socks cut off your legs and that’s why ankle socks are better. Sigh… to many fashion conundrums!
Happy belated ktfran! Sorry about your friend. Some people have no shame.
That sounds so fun @Rangerchic!!
I went on an Alaskan cruise with my family when I was in high school. I think I generally had a good time but it must be different now.
We also don’t have travel plans this year. Last year was a big travel year with Europe in the spring and Hong Kong in the fall. I’d like to go to New Orleans or New York.
