We’ve been back in the office since July 2020 but I think we are more the exception here.
Went to the mall yesterday. Same mall I was almost exactly 2 years ago when I wanted to go to Uniqlo for heat tech clothes for my trip to the Northwest Territories for the end of March 2020 that I didn’t end up going to lol. Mall wasn’t too busy.
Trying to find dresses for pre wedding events but the spring dresses aren’t out yet. It’s hard to buy dresses online especially because my size has changed.
Tomorrow the vaccine passports are ending and there are no more indoor capacity restrictions in Ontario. Rumour is that mask mandates will drop later this month.
Sure! Right now I am using a small bottle of LRP Vitamin C. I think it has brighten my skin and it has a nice texture. But it is $$ so I hope The Ordinary will do.
I’m taking Omega 3 fish oil pills daily. It’s the one thing my dad who is a doctor has recommended. It’s the first time I’ve taken it consistently and I think my nails are stronger.
I like HF too but we haven’t gotten it since we moved. It is so convenient and it’s nice not having to chop onions. I feel a little guilty about the waste.
That is exciting @theladye! I also got vitamin C and retinol (well using up some samples first and then bought TheOrdinary).
I booked a gel mani Saturday! She asked if I wanted an gel overlay. Had no idea what that was until googling. I’m just going to get a gel manicure now and maybe do an overlay for the wedding? Anyway it’s nice to have some self care. Got a blow out for the first time last weekend before our Valentines dinner which was fun.
That is so fun @Kate! Yeah my eyes have deteriorated over the pandemic too. There is the 20 20 20 rule. Every 20 minutes look at an object 20’ away for 20 seconds. You can also blink 20 times.
Alright, Ontario is basically fully opening up and come a March 1 there will be no mandatory vaccine. Masks still mandatory AFAIK. I think we are on the right path COVID wise. We stopped allowing anybody to test so I have no idea what our case counts are like, but ICUs are coming down. Vaccines aren’t as effective as omicron so it makes sense to remove that mandate but I don’t know how comfortable I am eating without knowing everyone else is vaccinated. I just hope that by opening up now we will still be ok come summer (selfishly partly for my wedding).
We went to a museum yesterday with my friend who is visiting from the UK. It was nice to feel like a tourist after not travelling for so long.
Edit: I am just so freaking embarrassed by the Freedom Convoy.

He got a round diamond with an accent diamond on either side (apparently a modern three stone design). Plain band.
My mom and sister just wear their wedding band too. They have a plain band. When I was choosing a band I thought about getting maybe a pave band but I liked the idea of not taking my wedding band off except for meat stuff or kneading dough. Right now I take off my engagement ring for showering, sleeping and cooking/cleaning. Maybe for a future anniversary I will get an anniversary band because they are very pretty and sparkly!
One thing to consider is if your engagement ring will be lower set or higher set. If lower then if you want your engagement ring and band to be flush, your band might have to be curved. My e-ring is lower set and I wasn’t sure about a curved band since I might wear it alone but I decided I was ok with it and I can turn it around I guess if it bothers me.
Also I like dainty bands too! Just another thing to consider is the width because it might be more prone to wear and tear if you wear it all the time.
@ktftan, June!! Also if I remember correctly, did you get engagement earrings?
Ahhhhhh that’s so exciting Copa! Do you have an idea of what shape you want? Well this is a great chance to see.
I kind of wish my fiancé and I did look together. I didn’t know much about engagement rings —- never looked or dreamed about one. I only started looking myself the month before he proposed. I like the one he chose. It’s meaningful that he chose it and he wanted it to be something that I liked (I’m pretty low key on things). I do wish I could have seen other options on my finger but it’s all good!! We have been choosing our bands together and it’s been fun.
Thanks all and glad to remind some of self care! I’ve also had some sensitive skin but I think it’s balanced out and I wouldn’t mind trying a facial. I am a bit nervous it might be too harsh.
@copa, hmm I do have a hard time supporting an MLM. I found a local option made of a vegan mixture of castor oil, vitamin e and fractionated coconut oil. I think castor oil is good to at least prevent breakage.
