I’m glad influencers and people are more open about Botox and treatments. Medspas also kind of weird me out but I was looking at some as they’re the only places with hydrafacials around here. My dermatologist who prescribed me Accutane is also into cosmetic dermatology so I’d like to think I could go there.
A classmate recently posted how they were updating the firm photos and she didn’t want new photos as she liked the ones 8 years ago. Her male colleague wanted new photos as he would look more professional and distinguished.
I don’t have anything against people who want work done but this did make me think.
We recently updated some headshots. I didn’t write about it here but I am fairly certain the advertising company photoshopped my photos so my face would be slimmer. I definitely have gained weight. It is good photoshop and my husband says that I still look like myself unlike some photoshopped headshots I’ve seen at other firms. But it is very embarrassing (hence why I didn’t post here). I don’t think the partners had anything to do with it. Possibly the photographers photoshopped everyone.
@copa, good point! I drive to work. I’ve noticed some of my female colleagues have smaller purses and then a laptop bag. The driving part probably explains it.
Thanks for the work bag perspectives. I am using a Kate Spade tote bag now. It’s fine, but yeah, just rethinking things.
Hah fourth enjoying every my husband is out of town. True about staying later at work. I do like spreading out in the bed haha. My husband works from home whereas I’m at the office full time so I feel like he’s been in the house alone a lot more. Granted he is working but still.
I feel like my husband is an equal partner in terms of cooking and laundry and other choices. I couldn’t imagine something different. Even though my mom was a working professional, she did and does nu dad’s laundry.
On a different topic, what do you use as a work bag? For a while I’ve used a tote bag purse that can fit a laptop but I realize I could use a real laptop bag and carry a regular purse.
Mmhmm there were a cluster of weddings around 26-27. And now just scattered so far from 30 to 34. I was into wedding tiktok and most of those brides are in their late 20s so I felt a bit older. I would say that the main “pressure” is having children if one wants them.
Just an observation—- two of my husband’s friends and engaged/married to women who have kids. Everyone is in their early 30s.
I know I need to stop comparing myself with people but I did feel self conscious getting married at 33 (technically 32 but my 33rd year). Now I know of 7 of my peers/friends who got married at 33 this year. I guess just anecdotally people in my circle (city, university degree) are getting married older and there’s no “normal”. Also maybe this was impacted by the pandemic.
I think I’ll try a Wet Brush!
I splurged and got the vitamin c from La Roche Posay. I liked the sample I had of it (felt like it brightened my skin) but went for The Ordinary. The latter was fine but I didn’t think it did too much. la Roche Posay also has hyaluronic acid

Happy belated threadaversary!! The two years I was dating felt like eons but I can’t believe I’ve dated my hubs for five years!
Also, as is the oft OT of this thread, what kind of brush do you use? I’ve just been using a wide tooth comb to get out large knots but I realize a brush might be good for smoothing.
