My brother finally got Covid, which I was worried about because he’s not in great health and has respiratory problems. I think he got it because he stopped having to wear a mask as a delivery driver so he just didn’t. But fortunately he didn’t get very sick… the way I heard it, he didn’t feel well one night and tested positive and is now waiting for a negative test before going out again. I do think the vaccines are pretty effective at preventing severe illness. And like I said, I was in a room with my sick boss for an hour sitting right next to her, and the next day I am pretty certain I felt my immune system fighting it but that’s it.
Wow! I hadn’t used that L’Oreal 8-second wonder water in my hair in a while because I’ve been able to wash and dry on non-humid days. But today is kind of sticky and I needed to wash for the week. I threw on one “dose” of the Wonder Water after shampooing and before conditioning, and once again had a wonderful result after styling. It has never let me down. Again, I’d be hesitant to use a product like this too often because I’d worry about buildup, but it is so great when you need to make sure you have a good hair day.
Omg one day last week I wore heels, like regular pumps, not super high, with the pointy toes. Which I used to wear all the time. I wore them all day instead of changing into them, and holy shit, the pain in the widest part of my foot. Never again. Flats and sneakers are fine. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Is there anyone in charge of the seating program? Like some part of HR that handles the communication about where to sit? That’s who I’d shoot an email to, and say it makes you nervous because you don’t know who’s been touching your stuff and if things are being sanitized. Then they can send out a reminder communication that says to only sit in your assigned seat.
If there’s no one like that you can go to, I think you could leave a sticky on the monitor that says this is your dedicated assigned seat, and to please use another desk.
We just got an email that says the risk level in Boston increased, so we’ll be taking added precautions. This consistently happens RIGHT after my assigned Connect Week. In fact in December, DURING my week, they put the whole program on pause. It’s annoying to have to be exposed to shit for them to go ahead and make an announcement. I did give feedback in the survey on Friday that lots of people are sick and it’s nerve-wracking.
Also, on the topic of skin care, I can’t remember if I already posted this, but my husband would never wear moisturizer. He thought it would break him out. But he’s out in the weather a lot and had a lot of dry patches and irritation. He does get his eyebrows waxed, and we were at a spa in California and the woman was like, I have to put moisturizer on you, I can’t let you leave like this, I took an oath. So then he told me he wants to wear moisturizer. I got him a No. 7 one at the drugstore that has vitamin C, and one called Ceylon that’s supposed to be good for acne prone skin and provide radiance. Holy shit, the wonders that ONE skin product can do. After a month he’s got smooth, glowing skin with no dry patches, no irritation, no breakouts. He puts it on after shaving and loves how his skin feels.
I’ve got him using sulfate-free shampoo also, and washing every other day to protect the color. As opposed to men’s 3-in-1 shower product.
I absolutely love products. For years I did market research for consumer products, and I miss it now that I’m in financial services although that’s cool too.
This Wella Shinefinity hair color product is really cool. It’s not really a color, I guess, it has no power to change or lift your color, so technically it’s a toner. My hairdresser used it on my wet hair the last time I got highlights, and it gave a very subtle rose gold tone and a lot of shine and softness. Now 4 weeks later I went back and she put it all over my dry hair. That didn’t take long at all and then I sat under a dryer for 20 mins and it was washed out and blow dried. It’s very noticeably pink now, or intense rose gold.
In summary, it’s a quick, relatively inexpensive, and non permanent way to try out a pretty new color, or something fun like blue, or enhance your natural color. My husband has naturally brown hair that’s now half gray, and he’s been getting the blue. It gives his hair an overall steel blue tone that’s really flattering but not like, “that guy has blue hair.” I think it’s an awesome product for if your hair has grayed or faded and you want to bring it back to life in a low commitment way.
Yep, everyone has it now, combination of mask mandates lifted, and being back in the office. I can’t believe I’ve never tested positive at this point.
It’s worrying that people are getting pretty sick, and it’s also inconvenient af to keep having to test and think about what I should and shouldn’t do.
