Mark’s first comments (which were rude and mean and offered no advice) got deleted when Wendy had to revert to an earlier version of the site. So Mark took that opportunity to come back and AGAIN express his opinion about red velvet cake and how nasty he thinks it is.
I agree, if it’s just this one weird thing, then order your own cake and don’t worry about it. But if this birthday thing is just the icing on the cake, then you need to deal with that instead of focusing in on small things.
Do you want to be married? Do you want more, or different than you’re getting?
Ok so, for those with the Dyson Airwrap (or who blow-dry and curl with an iron probably), I’m late to the party but mousse is a key ingredient. I was using a blow-dry primer spray and a heat-protecting styling cream, but my results with the Airwrap were tricky… I’d have to have my hair be pretty damp when using the curling barrels in order for it to hold a curl, but there’d be a little frizz and the style didn’t really hold up the next day so I’d put it in a ponytail. But now I add mousse to the roots and it makes a HUGE difference. I had some Evo MacGyver mousse at home, and I just ordered Amika Plus Size.
It’s like magic. Basically I can just blow all my hair out dry and smooth, then curl large sections using the smaller curling barrels like a wand upside down, and I get beautiful smooth waves that stay in! This morning I let my hair down and didn’t have to do ANYTHING to it. The mousse gives it body and hold without stickiness. I cannot believe how well it held the wave. I did love the Airwrap and what it could do, but this has perfected it for me.
I think it’s because modern mousse has polymers? Or copolymers? That build your hair up and give it shape memory. You want one that’s not just like a blast of alcohol for volume like I feel like it was in the 80s. The ones I’ve been using don’t seem to have alcohol or silicones (not that I avoid silicones, but I like to know).
I like how on Botched there’s always one person who’s so over the top ridiculous that the doctors are like, if we did this, your nose will turn black and fall off, or your boobs will rip open, you need to just wait one year before doing anything, and the person is like, ok bye, and you know they’re on their way to do it anyway.
I brought my computer too, thinking, like, this would be a fantastic time to test positive and get stuck in Cabo because no one does jack shit the next 2 weeks, and we paid $7 each for some insurance from the resort in case we had to stick around until we tested negative.
PS has anyone seen the show “Botched?” I don’t watch TV at home, but here they show multiple episodes of this E! show back to back with no commercials, in English, after dinner when we get in bed. It’s these people who got too many plastic surgeries and need these two Hollywood doctors to fix them. I love it.
So I just took a Covid test in Mexico because we’re flying home tomorrow. It was so bogus! We went to this certain hotel room, with a tip jar, and it took 5 seconds. They stuck the swab in one nostril (not high into your cavity) for one fraction of a second, and we each got the result back in exactly 15 minutes, negative. I’ve never gotten a test where they didn’t either have you rotate the swab around in your nostrils or they stick it up into your brain. And obvi the Mexicans have no motivation for anyone to test negative at this point, they just want us out of here. Lol. We did bring our own box of rapid tests which we’ll take just to be sure, but that was just ridiculous.
I’m in Mexico (west coast) and needed to wash my hair. It’s humid here but not like Cancun so I felt like I could attempt to dry my hair with the Airwrap. In addition to my heat control product, I grabbed some extra-hold Mexican herbal essences mousse at the shop, and damn! It made it smooth, with body, and held a curl!!! I think their mousse is more serious down here.
Haha, great, we were just ramping up this voluntary re-entry program at work where vaccinated people could go in on certain weeks. Now they’ve paused it because the risk in New England is again too high. I was in for 2 days this week. Really hope I wasn’t exposed to anything, but feel pretty safe being boosted. I actually enjoyed going in though 🙁
