Oh well, there’s a better job for you. Buying a car is a huge expense and big life change, and I’m sure you’d have other priorities to spend a salary increase on, plus to make a move without much of a salary increase at your stage of career there’d have to be a major upside in terms of lifestyle.
@Ange, there are options that may be less drastic than chemical straightening if you like your wave but need it to calm down. Once a year in June I get an amino acid treatment called Inca Glow that lasts 4 months and stops frizz but allows me to wear my hair wavy OR easily blow it out smooth. It’s (allegedly) just made of like flowers, not anything harsh.
Or there are more temporary products to smooth things out, like Color Wow Dream Coat (there’s a version for curls).
Or if frizz isn’t your problem, just a bit of a wonky curl pattern, maybe a different cut and a little touch-up with a curling iron could work. That sucks though to have your texture change.
Ok I’m emailing you a pic of what I look like on zoom today. Not sure if you have a way to post it. It’s just no-nonsense straight hair, what’s considered “professional,” no frills. People see me with salon hair that I think looks better, but there’s something about this look that must say power-hair??
But seriously so easy, idiot-proof, and no frizz whatsoever!
Wow, ok, I was just on a call my boss added me to, with a woman I don’t work with usually. After the call she messaged me, “your hair looked so damn good. I just got the Dyson Air Straight and it makes my hair REALLY STRAIGHT. But no oomph. How did you get that oomph?” And I was like “OMG, me too, I just got it today!”
A few people here have the Airwrap and I know who they are. It will be interesting to see who gets this thing too. That’s how you know who’s bananas.
It probably took me 40 minutes but I can do it faster next time now that I have the hang of it. Someone with straighter hair could work a lot faster.
It also leaves some volume, like a straight blow dry rather than a flat-ironed look. Absolutely zero frizz. I can’t get that with the brushes because they’re blowing my hair around somewhat.
This thing is not a must-have, but it’s worth it for people who want a very easy way to get dry, straight hair and would struggle to get that from a blow dryer and hot tool.
New hair tool alert 🚨
Dyson just came out with this Airstrait tool, which I bought because I’m crazy. It looks like a straightener, but it is *drying and straightening your hair with air*, not with hot plates, not with bristles, just, you clamp it down and it dries your hair perfectly straight with a powerful blade of freakin air, which isn’t even that hot. I can’t imagine it would cause damage.
I suck with a straightener, but I did my hair this morning and it indeed came out perfectly straight and shiny, a much better result than I get from the Revlon brush or the Airwrap smoothing brush. That said, it will ONLY straighten, you can’t curl or wave with it.
Manes By Mel on YouTube has a video using it on curly hair, and Milabu has one for straighter / wavy hair.
