Ha ha, Leon. You sound so nice and reasonable. What you’re doing is different, how? He asked why no one liked his story. We answered. And explained. And explained a different way. Who was nasty about it? Who showed self entitlement?
January 21, 2019 at 3:53 pm #816693For me it really boils down to, violence solves nothing. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Hitting someone in the face or throwing a blunt object at someone’s back isn’t heroic.
January 20, 2019 at 7:57 pm #816572It seems like you are shocked no one is giving you kudos for this. It’s not that great of a story.
January 20, 2019 at 5:07 pm #816527Yeah, it’s just…you’re not a hero for hitting another child in the face with a baseball. No matter the context. You aren’t a knight in shining armor, and it’s almost been a decade. Time to grow up and get over yourself.
January 20, 2019 at 4:08 pm #816491You should really stop caring what people think about you. You can’t control how others perceive you. Who cares if a bunch of strangers on the internet don’t believe your admittedly embellished story? It doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter.
January 20, 2019 at 2:32 pm #816467You know memories are subjective, right?
Regardless, it happened eight years and no one likes this particular bragging fairytale you half made up. It’s not doing anything good for you, so let it go.
January 20, 2019 at 2:28 pm #816464Because you’re obsessed with this story. Clearly. You don’t seem to understand this story is offputting and people don’t like it or see you as a hero. Smashing a ball in a kid’s face isn’t really a heroic act. And you can recount other memories of this bully.
Instead of arguing with strangers online, you could have a conversation with a professional who works at your school. You can talk it over with them. Maybe you can come up with heroic deeds you could do now and in the future.
January 20, 2019 at 2:18 pm #816460Please speak to your school counselor about how to get over your chivalrous 8 year old self.
Hunter, instead of swearing at strangers, maybe you should do something constructive, like work on some real fiction writing. You might be really good at it.
January 20, 2019 at 1:46 pm #816444What pidgin English? Where, in your story?
That’s not why it sounds fake. It sounds fake because it’s fake. Maybe you really did smash a ball in a kid’s face, but it’s your overinflated ego and fake details that really hit it home.
What you did is as bad as what those bad bullies did.
If the only example of standing up to a bully you have is from 8 years ago, maybe you should revisit your knight fantasies.
January 20, 2019 at 11:47 am #816429Who brags about some “good” deed they did at 8? Why are you even telling people this story? Generally people of actual good moral character don’t go around promoting all of the “good” deeds they’ve done.
Why not do something good now? That’s more impressive than touting your playground violence.
January 20, 2019 at 11:05 am #816420“like a knight in shining armor“
A knight in shining armor is a fairytale.
January 20, 2019 at 10:24 am #8164181. It happened how many years ago? No one cares what you did when you were 8 years old.
2. The entire story sounds made up and the dialogue is very suspect.
3. Beating up another kid for hurting someone else…not impressive. Maybe if you’d done the proper thing and got teachers or adults to handle the situation without violence and sexism, you’d have a better reaction.
4. It is weird you’re so obsessed with this story. -
