Our company will do the same as @Kate. We’re global, with about 55k people. Throughout the pandemic, offices were only officially closed the first month or so. We then opened them up to each State or City capacity limits, but nobody was required to go in. You could if you want to. Our Chicago office has about 15 – 20 people in on a regular basis, out of about 250 over two floors pre-pandemic.
For the foreseeable future, I think there will be some kind of hybrid, at least at our company. You won’t be required to go, but you can if you want. And on certain projects or initiatives, some might be encouraged to go in for a collaboration or strategy meeting.
Personally, I plan to go in a day or two a week or if there is a strategy meeting.
I’ve advanced my career because of connections I’ve made, as has the husband. I definitely feel some of that getting lost by never seeing people in person. Yes, there’s zoom or Teams or whatever. It’s not totally the same.
Two of my friends got JJ yesterday!! One friend has body aches today and the other has low fever and chills, although her husband is 100% fine.
The husband and I had that one. I’m four weeks in now, so totally vaccinated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BGM, my arm hurt for a few minutes too. Our side effects happened pretty much 7 hours after we received the shot (as did my sister’s). I wish you luck.
Fully vaccinated but still haven’t switched anything up, although I kind of want to eat breakfast (for the first time in over a year) at like 7:00 am tomorrow at a place we know is seating people far apart. Maybe it will be warm enough to eat outside.
One, def don’t feel guilty!!
Two, we also booked a vacation for the first week of May. Our PTO maxes out at 400 hours and beginning of June, we wi reach it. That’s insane to me. In previous years, I’d usually carry over about 120. This year, it was nearly 300. I definitely need a break.
Staying home doesn’t really work because I’d be inclined to answer e-mails. I’m usually pretty good while away from home about shutting down.
