Really, it’s as simple as saying “Yes, but we didn’t have the exact wedding we wanted, you can also get married any time you choose.”

    And then stop responding.

Or don’t respond at all. Continue as if she said nothing.

For major metropolitan areas, Chicago is doing excellent at Covid. Looking at per capita numbers it’s quite something.

I complain about the assholes. However, I appreciate Lightfoot’s leadsership.

Oh @Copa, believe me, I know. They definitely have a very conservative more “southern” outlook on life. Many in that area hate and/or are afraid of Chicago and big cities in general.

Agreed. Where a mask. Keep six feet away. Don’t gather in big groups. Wash hands. Don’t be an asshole.

I’m sorry @kate, that sucks. I’m in a similar situation. In Chicago, we’re doing fairly good comparatively. However, my parents, downstate IL on the Mississippi right next to MO, are coming to visit my other sis and her fam next weekend. They live in the burbs here. Cases are on the rise in parent’s county. It stayed at 42 for the past six weeks and now up 67 in four days. I’m not sure I want to see them. I know my mom has been pretty good, but my dad hasn’t. Ugh!

I was thinking along the same line as Kate. One of the executive in our office, despite wearing a lot of the pants from lululemon, always looks put together because of the top, jacket and shoes she wears with the pants.

EDT. There are some really great, lightweight travel pants out there that look good for the office.

Yes, when I saw the protesters march past my condo two friday’s ago, most were wearing a mask.

I don’t like what I see when I’m taking my normal, daily walks. On Sunday, so many groups were walking together and taking up the sidewalks waiting to get into restaurants.

    Lololol. Literally. Touche @fyodor.

I did! The owner had a contract with Nike that was immediately canceled. There were some other deals that were canceled. And I think he had another restaurant that closed. I mean, what did he expect. I finally walked by it yesterday since the protests. The once bright pink building is now black with the BLM fist painted next to it.

I mean, what did the owner expect? Although I’m glad he showed his true colors. Even before officially closing, I told the husband we would no longer patronize his restaurant.

Now, if 5411 wants to open an empanada place there, or Tolo from Southport, I wouldn’t be upset. That’s the one thing I miss about the old neighborhood. I had Tolo, 5411 and el Mercado (the argentinian market) anytime I wanted a Sat or Sun snack.

Maybe that’s why all of my grocery shopping experiences during Covid have been positive, Whole Foods. The only thing they’re having trouble keeping stocked is rice. And occasionally flour. The husband and I have a system. I go to produce, two dry good aisles and dairy. He does the meat counter, fish counter and deli. We’re in and out in 15 to 20 minutes!

They took my temp when I went in. I had to sign a waiver. The receptionist’s desk had the plastic barrier. The chairs were appropriately apart. My stylist disinfected both her station chair and the wash station chair before I sat in either. I had to keep my purse on my lap, I knew that going in so I brought a small bag. I was impressed with the care they took. They’re also working on systems to switch so we’re completely contact free, from booking appointments to paying.

MG, my stylist blow dried my hair, but I wasn’t in for a blow out. I got a single process and cut, so my hair had to be washed from the color and then she cut some wet but always finishes the cut dry. She even asked if I wanted product/styled after, I declined.

In summary, everything was done like normal, however we were both wearing masks the entire time. When she needed to work around my ears, I held my mask to my face the whole time.
