I can’t wait to see French Dispatch! I need to find some time.. I could take an afternoon off perhaps.. convince radiostar to as well, then have a nice leisurely lunch..
ANyway, @Kate, in Illinois, unlike other states, the cost of testing falls on the employer. Which sucks since it doesn’t motivate those unvaxxed to actually get vaxxed. (except for the hassle).
Additionally, with the labor shortage, there’s no way we could choose the nuclear option of mandating it.
@kate: i mean, if they want to work onsite, they have to be vaxxed. It will be interesting if they pivot to WFH or something. Or who knows. I haven’t heard if an at-home rapid is acceptable? if that’s the case, it shouldn’t be THAT troubling for them to submit. Having to wear a mask for the next year plus.. well, that’s on them

@Kate, the 100+ mandate affects my company too. In particular, 3 people on my team who, despite being fairly liberal and well-educated, are refusing to get vaccinated. I think we can convince one to do it, but the others.. not a chance.

We’re supposed to go to a wedding in November as well, but we will most likely skip the church service (which we would have anyway since a 3pm service and getting a babysitter for our kids.. not super convenient). The reception is close by at Bridgeport Arts Center which is a huge warehouse. I feel better about that.
We’ve had a decent amount of breakthrough cases here at work. WE are under the Biden mandate, so waiting on OSHA to tell us what that all entails, who pays for the testing etc. There are three on my team who are unvaccinated, two of which will definitely not get the vaccine and one who probably will out of inconvenience of testing.
Had my dad send some ridiculous Bannon shit on that alt-right youtube forum about how they’re mandating a vaccine for an extinct virus. super super eyeroll.

I only wear my mask if the business specifically requires it (fully vaxxed), but it’s also summertime in Chicago so I am outside as much as possible. At my workplace, we are able to be maskless with proof of vaccination. so there are several people that are still wearing masks when not at their desks.

so, if youre in the market for a pair of nice sunglasses, may i recommend the RayBan fold ups? I bought these 4 or 5 years ago at Nordstrom and yes. i still have them. They are currently surviving my toddler and I ALWAYS keep them in the case because it’s so small it actually fits in my purse!
@veritek.. if you have a dermatologist, I recommend asking for some scripts. I’ve been on azelaic acid and it’s been great for brown spots and keeping my face nice (and it’s safe for bfing). There is another thing they can give you too for breakouts (i think it starts with a “C”)
I’m still on prenatals and breastfeeding, but yeah.. it was like another person was in the shower with me on the days I washed my hair. So. Much. Fall.
