    My sister and her husband put their house on the market in early July and it sold within 24 hours! Their other house is being built and isn’t ready until next month so they’ve had to stay with our brother and his fam.

    So…it can happen! I hope it sells fast for you guys @Copa!

    There is so much despair in the last few pages. I’m so sorry everyone is feeling that way. Here, in Colorado, i’m not feeling that much despair in the air, not yet anyway. Though, I’m not in Denver so IDK how it feels there. I am worried about the fall. The college I work at is opening though I can work from home, thankfully. I saw a picture today from a coworker where they are trying to put up plexiglass barriers at certain desks. My desk is huge and in the middle of the 2nd floor and they put a tiny plexiglass barrier on one side of the desk. I mean, thanks for trying I guess? But that is not protection. Plus there are study tables behind my desk so…why even bother with that?

    Welp the governor of Colorado is finally requiring masks for all retail establishments. This comes after stores are finally making their own rules about requiring masks (before it was just highly encouraged WTF) The official ruling is only for 30 days though – sigh. Hopefully the stores hold up their own rules regarding mask wearing for the foreseeable future.

    Then – on another note. My MIL and BIL were here from Wed thru Monday morning – a few too many days for me. And I will not have them here again until this thing is over. They don’t wear masks and my MIL had been going to casinos. I didn’t think she’d been to one in the last 2 weeks before coming but she wouldn’t tell me. I don’t understand her. I don’t think she’d survive it at all. Walking 10 feet puts her out of breath (Like really out of breath) – that’s how out of shape she is (plus other medical conditions she has). So I’m holding my breath for the next IDK 10 days or so. I’m just angry at them for being so callous. It is partly my fault too – I shouldn’t have let them come. But at least now I know better.

    thanks, @Copa! I’ll look into some. I usually only wash my hair about twice a week. A little more if it gets too dirty but that is my go to. It helps that I got my hair thinned at the salon the other day. It feels much better for now!

    And glad to hear you are feeling better @Helen!!

    Just got back from the grocery store…went to WF (Whole Foods) instead of KS (King Soopers which is owned by Kroger) and the mask wearing shoppers at WF was much better compared to KS. Even though I hate to spend a little more on groceries (though they do have some stuff I really like) I’ll keep shopping there as I feel safer. They actually mark out 6ft lines for waiting on cashiers. KS doesn’t do anything like that and it gets way to crowded.

    Thanks, Kate! I’ll try a deep conditioner. I don’t usually use any irons – I don’t usually even blow dry.

    @Helen
    – I’m with you. I don’t know that we’ll ever get the virus under control – even with a vaccine with people like that because I’m sure they won’t get it. If a vaccine is found I hope it’s mandatory for those that can get it so that those of us who can’t will be protected. But that is not likely to happen.

    @Kate – how do you do a blowout? What does it do for your hair? My hair is always so dry! I’d like to fix it up sometimes but it’s so long (for me) that it takes me forever and I lose my patience.

    @Nicole, I’m in Colorado Springs – about an hour south of Denver. Most everyone was doing good there for the longest time (with wearing masks). I just don’t understand what happened to all the common sense…I guess it went out the window.

    @Kate
    – apparently CO did NOT learn or have forgotten. And people are selfish anymore – no respect for others. We are from Arkansas originally which is spiking with cases right now – because no one there wanted to follow any suggested guidelines (aka wear masks). I’m so tired of all the selfish jerks.

    I’m feeling a little melancholy today…My husband and I were supposed to be in the Cayman Islands this week. And I would like to start planning that trip again or any trip/get away but just can’t do it with all the unknowns right now.

    I did go to the hair salon last Friday and it was soooo nice to do a normal, regular thing. Wore masks the entire time and it’s a small salon so not a lot of people – only 6 total. 3 stylists and their customers situated 6 feet a part.

    But then, went to the grocery store Monday and OMG! the store has a sign that asks everyone to wear a mask (but it is not required) and suddenly at least half the people weren’t wearing masks. I’m so so disappointed that so many people are apparently just deciding this is over and ignoring the guidelines. Makes me nervous to even go to the grocery store now. At least I can still work from home and my boss is pretty understanding, at this point, I may have to for a long, long time.

    Sorry about your bad news @BGM. Hoping something else will pan out for you.

    @V33 your salon experience just gave me goosebumps…I leave in 30 min to get my hair done! But your story also gives me hope that wearing a mask will def help (they are required at the salon I’m going to). But I’m also immuno compromised so I’ve been wishy washy for weeks deciding to go or not. Ultimately I decided I’m going to go.

    We’ve been under curfew because of protests here. I’ve been watching the local news about the protests and it doesn’t look like any of the protestors (or very few) wear masks. I’m hoping it doesn’t cause a surge in cases here. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it does.

    Our fridge decided to go out this week. Had the repairman out today and hopefully it’s fixed. But it’s hot and we don’t have AC so keeping everything in coolers helped but still lost some items to spoilage. Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays fixed!

    I have mostly straight hair so it worked well for me. It just took sooo long to use (but I feel that way about curling irons and flat irons too). I always wanted naturally wavy hair. My mom has curly hair but my dad has straight so I got mostly straight (sometimes it’s wavy when I don’t brush it after washing it).

    There’s been rioting here in Colorado too (Denver and the Springs that I’m aware of). Denver had a curfew the other night. I haven’t heard of anyone getting seriously injured but then I’m not watching the news frantically either. Most of the protests and looting are downtown areas and I’m at least 30 min from downtown so I feel safe here at home. Crazy times.

    I missed the hair discussions but I’ve got an appointment Friday that I’m going to keep I think. My hair is now really long and heavy so layers and some color to cover the gray. Speaking of 80’s hair though – did anyone here ever use a crimper? I still have mine! It’s hot pink and still works. Maybe I should find it…
