I am sure he means it… a visit is fun and no-commitment, right? So he’s saying, if we’re still in contact and like each other, you should [spend thousands of dollars if it’s summer and] come visit. I think he’s being pretty reasonable about the whole thing and at least he’s not BS’ing you like, yes! I totally see us together 6 months from now! Taking it day by day makes sense.
MissDreDecember 23, 2016 at 11:38 am #665636I have a date with New Dude next week (I feel like I need to come up with a better name for him) and I decided to get him a small gift. Kind of like a combination x-mas/b-day/good-luck gesture. He’s a huge beer fan, so I got him a “Beer Bible”, it’s a guide to all the ales/lagers of the country he’s going to. And I also got a travel guide with maps, transit tips, etc.
I love picking out gifts for people, so I hope he likes it 🙂
This story about a guy who was having a shit time with online dating until he let his mom take over is really cute and encouraging.

December 28, 2016 at 12:44 pm #666338I do! J’s band is playing at a brewery a little ways north of us. It’s a Disco party and it should be a lot of fun. One of my friends is coming with me, so I won’t be sitting by myself all night, and it’s always really fun to watch J play the drums.

The Buzzfeed story is all kinds of cute. It’s an interesting idea, too, letting someone close to you that you trust to take over your dating accounts for a week.
@Skyblossom: a Disco party sounds like so much fun! I’m shooting for a super low key NYE this year. A quiet dinner out and then watching the fireworks from home. Both of those plans sound fun! I can’t decide if I want to go out or stay in. I’m going to a surprise birthday party Friday night that I plan on drinking at, so it might be nice to stay in Saturday rather than go to my friend’s annual dress up and get wasted NYE party downtown. Last year I went out and had a great time and declared 2016 was going to be amazing. And now I’m like, sit down Veritek, shut up, and just ride this NYE out without declarations. Call me superstitious if you will lol.
shakeourtreeDecember 28, 2016 at 4:30 pm #666383For NYE, I’ve been invited to a house party, a swanky dinner, and a party at a brewery/bar/heated rooftop patio. I haven’t fully decided what I’m going to do yet, but I’m leaning towards the brewery party. There is high potential for an awkward run-in with an ex-friend at the house party, and the fancy dinner is expensive plus a long Uber ride from home. I also bought really risque outfit, so I’m probably less likely to scandalize people with my breasts at a bar.
