@MissDre – FMH took a liking to my cat like no other dude ever did. Now my cat will go right up to him for attention over me. While making me jealous that cat is my shadow otherwise. Every time he left when we were LDR he’d say bye to the cat. How someone treats animals says a lot.
@TheHizzy I agree I think it’s so important! He loves animals, but he doesn’t have much experience around cats. I couldn’t stop laughing, because the whole time he was here he kept wanting to play with them, even getting down on the floor on all fours. He kept asking me if he could give the kitties treats. And they LOVED him!
Even when we went to visit my mom, my mom’s dog AND kitten both jumped into his lap at the same time to cuddle. So I have a great photo of him grinning while covered in animals.
Can you believe I actually dated a guy who thought it was funny to tell me that NO guy would ever want to marry me with my 3 cats and that I’d probably end up alone (I did not go out with him again after that).
TheHizzyJanuary 2, 2018 at 1:14 pm #734770@MissDre an “ex” used to call my cat a “shit brick” He’s an ex for a reason. He called him it once, and i quickly corrected it. I was just in it for the sex.
PS – this was the dress on me. Still trying to convince myself! https://i.imgur.com/MtkWzkr.jpg
January 2, 2018 at 1:53 pm #734782That’s such a pretty dress! 🙂
So my parents have a cat who usually keeps her distance from pretty much all strangers. When my bf came over for the first time, she actually let him pet her and give her a treat. So that was a good sign.
My feeling is, you don’t have to love a particular type of animal (some people are just dog people, etc) but you have to be kind no matter what. That’s a great dress and at a great price! And your tan looks great, too!
I’ve met some guys who HATE cats. (I’m sure there are women out there who are like this, too.) I understand not wanting to run out and get one, or even liking them, but I don’t understand the hatred. Like on dating profiles, I’ll sometimes see comments about cats being dealbreakers (and NOT because of allergies). I’m a huge animal person, so pretty much anyone I date can’t dislike animals (I want ALL THE PETS), and obviously I couldn’t handle someone who is mean to animals (or even mean about mine). I seriously considered dumping an ex of mine because he thought pitbulls are inherently bad/mean/aggressive dogs. It was one of my “I should’ve known!” after we broke up.
TheHizzyJanuary 2, 2018 at 2:21 pm #734790You guys helped. I just ordered it. Plenty of budget money left over to modify it how I might love it more.
Yeah. So many guys asked me if I was a crazy cat lady or asked how many I had. Blew those dudes off. No thanks. My cat is more friendly and protective than any dog I have has he been.
That dress looks beautiful on you @TheHizzy!
I have to admit I’m not a huge animal person. I don’t hate them but I’m super awkward around them. I didn’t grow up with pets. So I’m hoping if and when I meet my bf’s family dog it’ll be ok and like not a deal breaker if it goes really bad, ha ummm.
NYE has never been that big for me. But I had a chill night at home with my bf and it was nice! We played board games and watched TV. Oh my gosh, we are boring. NYE is still not a big deal but a new year’s kiss is fun.
@hfantods Most dogs LOVE just about everyone, so you’ll be fine meeting the family dog. Last night, my doorbell kept buzzing at all hours of the night. I started getting nervous — I live in a courtyard building on an elevated first floor, and last fall saw a man who seemed mentally unwell lurking in my courtyard several times (once at night near an elevated first floor apartment’s window, even though I don’t think he was looking in) — but my dog kept running to my front door to say “HI, HI, HI!!!” to whoever it was outside. I had this moment of, “If someone breaks in and kills me, my dog would happily make his new home with them anyway.” Because that’s how friendly dogs are.
